What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Took it to work had it mini detailed and did a beach cruise down Pine Trees.

 

Just about finished up my retrofit.

 

Picked up new tires and washed the outside.







I really need to put a leveling kit on but so confused on what spacers to put in the front to raise it.

Lol. Mine was easier than I thought. Less than 30 min to get it off. Brought it to a shop to press the old bearing off and the new one on, took him 20 min. Had it back on and rolling in 45 min because I remembered the dust shield about the time I went to put the caliper on.

 

damn you got lucky haha. when you took it apart, did you have to take off that nut that had the 4 holes on the top and would un-thread and allow you to get to the bearings. did you use a specific spanner wrench or just some big crescent wrenches? i went with a big crescent wrench haha. also, when we pressed the bearing out, we only got half of the bearing out so the other part had to be cut out. needless to say, it was to the point of almost being completly seized on. just happy i was able to finish it and say ive done a wheel bearing and probably will never again.

 

Love the yellow line. Does your wife still park crooked and all across the line? Went with the lasers in our garage and she still does not trust them.

BHLM done last night, still a little haze on the outside to buff out but it's looking good

 

I guess it's under the bed so it doesn't really matter, but isn't the point to get the fumes out from under the vehicle when it's not moving?

 

Cree white LED's I picked up a FRY's for about $7 these are splash proof and look like the CREE's are sealed in some kind of polymer, good stuff, these are getting mounted for under the hood utility lighting.



Which will be switched by this: a mercury switch that I have mounted inside of a ball-point pen, I used some shrink to cushion the glass of the switch from banging around on the inside of the pen shaft.

I wired up the switch, added more shrink as needed to seal and heated the shaft to get the angle I need. So I need the switch to come on when the hood is opened and not if I'm going uphill or accelerating, now just have to find the right spot under the hood to mount it.

 

^ Why did you chose a tilt switch instead of a mechanical switch that's triggered by the hood opening?

 

For the challenge to see if I can make it work

 

If I'm stuck in traffic, I have the windows open anyway. It's pointed down and away enough to not really build up fumes. Trust me, I thought about the implications of everything about it before I dumped it.
