That's not bad for both springs shipped, this might be the route i choose if i don't go with Doug's refurbished springs here locally

The manual say 37 lb-ft. Most believe it's supposed to be 73, and many torque to 75 or so.

This was back before I lifted with an AAL. This is under no load on flat ground. . .

The metric spec right next to it in the torque chart converts to 37 too! I believe a bolt that diameter should be torqued from 70 to 80 though, so I think everyone agrees that's what it should be. At least that's what I've read here and elsewhere.

Very much. Before, I would hit bump stops at every bridge crossing/RR track/etc.

Wow that's gotta be pretty annoying! How many miles did you have on it when it got that bad?

Is this a comen thing ( sqeeking ) with these springs ?

I went with the standard duty becuase of the price and I plan on lifting the truck as soon as I have a couple things paid off. I would recomend getting the 4pack because it seems people are having better luck from my research. The squeek on the tacos are common I was hoping that these were made differently and they wouldnt squeek. I guess its just my luck so that lift might come sooner than later.

It was a highway truck for the first 100k miles. After I lifted is when I stated offroading. The only thing is hauls is my dirt or street bike.

I don't know what they are supposed to be torqued to, but 37 ft-lbs. seems rather low to me for axle U-bolt. I doubt you would break a U-bolt that size by applying 70 ft-lbs. to them, so what's the harm in tightening them up a little if they're not frozen by rust? I've seen some really low torque specs for things light cast aluminum parts and sheet metal pans, but not suspension components. Even if it's not a misprint, it's too damn little for me.

So what is the difference between the domestic & foreign other then the steel? I was reading a post on general spring on another thread and he posted pics . From what I can see one has the military type wrap and one has the oem type steel strap that keeps the leafs in inline. Made me start thinking that maybe the military ones are the ones that squeak.

As far as I know, the source of the steel is the only difference. I went with the domestic under the theory that the steel is higher quality; but with nothing to compare it to, I may have just paid slightly more money for the same spring. Most, if not all, leaf springs squeak some. There are just too many sliding surfaces and frankly, it's not a big deal as long as everything is tight. Some people prefer the military warp for ease of service (adding/removing leafs) I don't think it matters much unless you need to take them apart. The spring bolt in the middle of the pack along with the U-bolts will pretty much keep everything together.
