I'm curious...what are your thoughts regarding the current user interface on the 2013 non-entune touchscreen? It seems like it's capable of so much more. Do you think there will be a firmware or flash update for this unit or it is what what it is?

im with you, i hate how when you brows ipod or media player, everytime you go to browse it starts over from the top of the list. simple settings dont seem to stick. it could be such a great unit but its as though they didnt put time into real world use testing. seems to fall short on things, I soo want to upgrade because if that

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one, and not just being picky. There just seems to be a bunch of unused space within the display and blacked out settings. These trucks aren't cheap, so it's a little frustrating.

It is just basically a dumbed down version of the entune unit

It would be nice. When I bought mine I asked if I could just swap out the head unit for one that had the navigation entune and all that, they told me no. I don't understand why it can't just be that simple and swap it out.

Great info. Thanks for the responses! It'll be nice to see what unfolds as more 13's make their way out into the market. Obviously this stereo is capable of so much more. I know it's not an Entune, but it bums be out that Toyota dumbed it down so much :(.

Only thing new we have seen is a Plug in nav module for the non entune screens. And we have a new kit that will give you a android type device on screen but not thru touchscreen has a small wireless keyboard w/ touchpad. The video hack is kind of expensive though for the android kit

Thanks for the info! That plug-in nav sounds interesting. Can I find this with any particular google search? Thanks!

I wish the damn thing just got regular updates. From the sound of the documents I read, flashes would only be distributed for TSBs, which means the regular hoopla around TSBs will apply, and they would probably only be for super-critical issues.

Not really much out there on it. It is a part we sell and install mainly to Toyota dealers. It covers 8 of the new cars. Tacoma and Camry being the most popular for us. Ill see if I can dig a sell sheet up for you and scan it. The unit runs igo primo uses the factory touchscreen but has its own little speaker for turn by turn

Have you guys tried getting into the hidden menu yet? You can possibly do some sort of firmware flash from there.

Hey Sean, next time we go wheeling and I see you I'll try to access the hidden menu on your head unit (if it exists)..
