Biggest Tire Size Non lifted Tx pro trd tacoma?

Hello, this is my first post so any info would be greatly appreciated, i just bought a 2011 Toyota Tacoma Tx Pro Trd, love it, i bought the extended warranty so lifting it without eliminating the warranty has proven troublesome... I was wondering whats the biggest size A/T tire i could put on my truck without trimming or lifting, its got P265/70r16's on it with those Trd wheels that came on it, i absolutely love the Nitto Trail grapplers but they only come in LT285/70R16, would those fit? Do they make a 265 or 275? Thank You for the help on this!

Largest tire size on a 2nd gen Tacoma on stock suspension is 265/75/16, 265/70/17 or 265/65/18 depending on your wheel size.

I don't think 255/80 will work on stock suspension. I ran 700# king coils with 1" of preload and rubbed while flexing even a little with 255/85

 

I think its kinda like the 285 discussion. Some people say it works without trimming some say it doesnt.

 

I have a Baja on 285's...But I took off my fenders until I find some time to trim up my fenders. Like everyone said if you search there are a ton of threads on what people needed to do to clear 285's. My suggestion is go with a 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 with an aggressive look. I wasn't a huge fan until I bought them but I love my Duratracs.

Also, 265/75/16 and 265/70/17 will not rub if you stick to OEM wheels. Once you put aftermarket wheels with backspacing of lets say 4.5 instead of the 5.5 of OEM wheels, you will have to loose front mud flaps to avoid rubbing.

 

If he has the TRD wheels that come on the T|X Pro or baja his back spacing is actually going to be around 4.6". If it was anymore I would have needed wheel spacers to clear my UCA.

 

That is a good point, I did not realize he has those wheels.

I have American Racing wheels with 4.5bs and 0 offset and with 265/75/16 A/T tires mounted, I had to loose front mud flaps. I also had to bend the inner portion of the fender flare inward to avoid rubbing. (The piece that normally would be covered behind the front mud flap) This is on stock TRD suspension of course.

So, i have the trd wheels with those beadlock looking things, would Goodyear Wrangler duratracs 265/75r16 fit. my stock size is 265/70r16, also i trimmed my stock front mudflaps 3.5" shorter if that makes a diff. Thanks

Search around OP. Read about the warranty stuff. It won't affect anything if you lift your truck other than the parts you install... Read some warranty threads to ease your mind. Guys are running 265/75/16 on stock and you should be fine. The tires will fit the beadlock wheels.

This is my experience, pretty close scenario to what you have.

My 265/75/16 Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S tires are 31.9" according to the Yokohama website. Some 265/75/16 may have smaller thread depth etc and end up being 31.8" or so. It depends on the particular tire.

Here are some pics from my truck. These pics are with AR wheels, above mentioned tires and OEM front mudflaps. Front OEM mudflaps were still rubbing. You can see from the pictures, they have a buldge covering the inner part fo the fender flare where the rub marks are. I had to remove front mudflaps and bent the inner portion of the fender flare inward to avoid rubbing. You can try buying a set of front & rear (or front only) mudflaps from Husky. Husky mudflaps have a smaller buldge and that may be enough to avoid your tires to rub. I did buy Husky mudflaps, but it was not enough in my case. Since then I don't have front mudflaps installed, and I put on Husky's on the rear.

So in short, it will fit, just be prepared (based on your wheels specs) to most likely deal with tires rubbing on front mudflaps. Also trimming your mudflaps will only avoid scrapping on curbs, speed bumps rocks etc. OEM front flaps are ridiculously long.

 

Albany Area, and the warranty buisness is different from dealer to dealer, im only looking to do a 2" front and 1"rear, i do not do major offroading mostly trying to get the "look" of a bigger truck.
