New to the truck scene, need some ideas!

    Hey guys just joined the site after buying a 2013 Tacoma Sport this past Tuesday. I'm not all that knowledgable on truck mods as I am a big mustang guy. I had a Whippled 2003 10th Anniversary SVT Cobra that got totaled last year, and decided before getting another one that I would buy a reliable daily driver that would last me a long time. Just looking to do a few things to the truck such as wheels/tires, step rails, maybe a lift at some point, and not really sure what aftermarket exhaust sounds like on these trucks? Just looking for some good mods to set it apart, but not looking to get crazy with it. Here's a pic of the truck and also my old Cobra lol

    welcome! for exhaust youtube is your best bet there are tons of threads on them i like the TRD exhaust or borla, lift 3in is really nice on these trucks, look at some build threads to get some visual ideas alot of info on them good luck!

    your best bet is to just change the muffler to a borla muffler thats what im gonna do

    Isn't the TRD exhaust basically a BORLA? I thought I read somewhere that it was actually manufacturered by them.

    no the muffler used in the TRD is BOSAL i believe someone correct me if im wrong pretty sure that was the name of it.

    Would it be stamped on it somewhere? I just went and looked, but didn't see anything that really stood out...plus, its like 95 degrees and about to rain so I wasn't under there for long.

    not sure if its stamed i dont have one but im sure someone could shed some light its a popular exhaust. but pretty sure the muffler is bosal ive seen a few people post saying thats what they were.

    A cheap, but not necessarily easy, mod would be the Black Head Light Mod, or BHLM. It takes titanic sized nuts to pop the cherry on new headlights tho. Most visible mod, but also very sublime.

    Dang that Borla muffler sounds great! Probably the best sound I've ever heard from a v6 for sure. I think I will end up going with that. Do you guys like the tubular step rails or the 4 step smittybilt style?
