I'm looking into getting a e locker for my 05 tacoma. I was looking at the eaton model, I like how I can control when I use it, and that it works at speeds over 5mph unlike the TRD from what I believe. I have not dug into it too much, it never occurred to me until I diff'd out the other week in dirt/rock.

Is it something that is bolt in? Or does it have to be installed then aligned by a specialist?

U can run locked at any speed with the TRD stamped locker.

U shouldn't engage or disengage it at speeds above whatever's stated.

After its engaged, feel free to run it at whatever speed is safe for the terrain but remember when locked it will not turn the same because u lose the whole point of a differential.

That sticker on the trucks is simply toyota lawyer CYA stuff and that's it aside from engaging and disengaging below a certain speed.

Thanks, I was just reading another thread about that. I also read that when it's activated it turns off the abs.

I did a couple quick google searches trying to find where to buy a kit and pricing, and info on where to buy?

Never looked into buying 1 sorry.

And yes it def kills the abs and makes stopping much better.... With that option and some wiring Crom made up a how to thread on abs disabling (via switch) and it works flawlessly.

Abs switch, I like the sound of that. I'll look that up, knowing myself as soon as I hit dirt the rear is locked.

The more I'm reading it's looks more like the eaton is not available for the tacoma? I was under the impression they were.
