Ok guys, so today I got my Tacoma, well it's still at the shop, deciding what to do with it now.. It looks just like this....
    2006 Toyota Tacoma 2x4 PreRunner
    V6 Automatic Transmission
    Double Cab Short Bed

This is my dream truck and now I want to get it setup before I take it from the wholesale dealership....

This is what I want it to look like more or less....

What do I need to do.. I dont understand lift kits very much. I want it to be usable, to take off in the dirt occasionally and have a nice ride. But budget is somewhat limited. I want 17 or 18 in rims with like a 31/32/or 33 in tire? What can I fit and with what lift? Body lift or full suspension or spacers or what? It's all confusing to me. I know what I want it to look like, but not sure at all what I'm looking at when I look at kits.. PLEASE HELP!!

Those truck you posted have 6" lifts on them. Also looks like 35" tires.

You can check out my link in my sig to see what my truck looks like.
    I have a Fabtech 6" lift and BFG KM2 12.5x35x17" tires.

4" Camburg Race Spindles and Icon 2.5" ext travel Coilovers in the front for about 5"of lift and for the rear All-Pro 3" leaf pack and Fox 2.0 Resi's converted to piggyback and custom valved by DownSouth Motorsports. 17x9" KMC XD Addicts w/ 4.5 inch Backspacing and -12 Offset. Wrangler Duratracs 285/70/17. K&N CAI, Exhaust, Carriage Works Billet Grill, Custom Bed bar with ProComp fog lights,DirtKing Fabrication front bumper w/ 3 HID converted Hellas, Demello rear PreRunner bumper, Tinted windows, Full System w/ 2 10s, Garmin 265WT, ClearHLM. Theres more I just cant think of it right now.
I would recommend a 3" lift with quality parts and some nice wheels w/ 33s. The wheels and tires are up to you. I got my wheels and tires from www.4wheelparts.com for $1837 balanced, installed, trimmed for rubbing, lugnuts and locks and tires insured.

Front Coilovers: Fox, King, Icon, Sway-a-Way (in order)
Upper Control Arms (UCAs): Camburg or Total Chaos
Rear Shocks: Fox, Icon, Sway-a Way, Bilstein, ProComp (in order)
Add-a-leaf or Full leaf pack: Deaver or Icon

The 6" lift looks nice. But Im a fan of ProComp not FabTech (almost died because of them) The good thing is that you can run 35" tires.

This setup was bought from Off-Road Warehouse by FoxRacR17 for 2365.31 with free next day shipping. The only thing you would need is the rear leaf pack, installation and an Alignment. Good Luck on what ever you choose.:D

I'm looking at the RCD 4" lift.. Looks about like what I want. Would 33's look good on that size of lift? Where's the best place to look at wheel selections?

The FOX kit you showed below, how much of a lift does that get you?

Ok so I'm narrowing it down..

Ultimate lift kit for 2005-2009 Tacoma from ToyTec is $1200
Full Suspension 4" lift from RCD is $2500
Coil Over 3" kit from Pro Comp is $500

Pretty big price differences.. Can someone help me out?

RCD is awesome too from what I hear. 33s would look great with that kit. I would go to www.4wheelparts.com to buy wheels and tires. Good prices and a big selection. If you do go with them tell them I sent you. I've bought so much shit from them its crazy.

The Fox setup gets around 3-3.5" of lift.

I just thought of something. Camburg makes 4" lift spindles. That and some coilovers would get about 5" of lift.

    Keep me posted.

Their is no way to do this on a budget................its going to cost you some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.................be happy that you have a new truck.........not allot of people in this economy can afford such a nice ride......It kills me that we live in a society of more,more,more.....be happy w/what you have now..........It will happen like this.....you will eventually do it,still not be happy w/it and sink more $$$$$$$$$$ into it...and thats just the outside of the truck...........wait until you want to mod the inside..............

If you are gonna spend $1200 DO NOT buy the Toytec kit!! Those coilovers are just 5100 bilstiens with a mod to them. Get Real Coilovers!

Like SURFSUPL said you are going to spend money. Just do it right once and be happy. Dont spend money on something and wish later on down the road you bought it right the first time. Thats what I did. I have the Toytec Spacer kit and I wish I would have done differently.

I would've bought that white one...no easier way to get your truck to look like that one than to own that one. :D

That's what I was about to say.

Honestly, learn your new truck before you start screwing with it. Walk before you try to run. This truck doesn't drive like a normal truck, but it's not a car either.
Learn it's dynamics before you start modifying it, other wise things will go wrong and you won't notice it, or things will be fine, and you'll freak out because you're not sure if it's normal or not.

:DI like it a lot. I get a lot of compliments as well.
Went with the Icon coilovers up front with the Total Chaos Upper A-arms.
Bilstein 5100's in the back with add-a-leaf. Very nice ride. Although I have not driven the Fox or King's.:D

    Just FYI?
RCD is a Procomp "knock off"

Like Camburg C/O's are a "knock off" of Sway-A-Away C/O.

    Just re-badged.
