Custom Sub box

I really hate how you have to put subs behind the back seat of a double cab. Shallow mount subs seem to be the popular choice? Has anyone incorporated a custom box to sit on the back seat and make an "L" shape? See pic attached...

 

Ehh not a fan but someone might have.. They kind of make a similar setup for the Access cab..

 

Well i dont like shallow mount subs and if the max sub size that you can fit behind the seat is a 10" i wont like that.

 

In my next Tacoma, I'll probably replace the rear seat with two nice bucket seats, along with the fronts to match, and build a custom box/mock console between the new rear seats. That's quite a ways off for me, though.

 

Thats a popular design for access cabs, there is a bunch of guys with that style. You could always go under the rear seats like this

Not quite like that. I'll be trying to maintain a factory look as best as possible.

But that's definitely some impressive fiberglass work!

It seems like there wouldnt be alot of room under the seat either?

Has anyone taken the bench seat out and put in 2 bucket seats? I wouldnt mind doing that

I like the first link, do you think i could have enough for 1-12" or 1-15"?

I would probably also run the back of the box all the way to the bottom part of the window under the sliding glass

 

Well as you will have to make some modifications to the box i would say a 12 would most likely work but i doubt you would be able to do a 15 without making the part that actually goes on the seat much higher for air space..
