Did you build the trailer? I want something similar, but I won't be able to make my own.

Yep. They were the tires I took off the Tacoma when I got the MTRs.

I would love a trailer like that for delivering firewood. Did the truck have trouble pulling it when it was full?

You could definitely tell it was back there. At first I was worried about the 255/85 KM2's, but it pulled just fine with them. Once it got going, it was fine. I towed in 4th only though. The biggest issue was stopping it. Even with trailer brakes, it took a while to get it stopped with that much weight. I'm thinking it might be worth it to upgrade the pads up front with something with a little more bite.

I went with Hawk LTS pads and slotted rotors through racestopper.com as an upgrade for pulling my camper/4-wheeler combo. I'm very happy with them!

    That's amazing... I didn't know Tahoe's had a steel hull??!! Lol

Looking at purchasing a boat within a year or two. Either going to do a 23'-26' performance (baja, donzi) which now I'm not sure I could get away towing with or a cruiser 28'-32'...

Might have to do the cruiser. The baja outlaw 25' shows a dry weight of around 4700lbs...

    What's your trailer weight?

I bought some centric fleet pads with resurfaced stock rotors. Stops on a dime! With my jeep behind me on my trailer (4.5k-5k), I now never worry if I'm going to stop. It finally feels like I have 4 piston calipers and more up front! They were $70 for the pads from a local brake shop in SD. Could probably get them cheaper but was in a hurry.

No worries. Sunset Magazine did a write up on the area 2 years ago. Praised it seriously. Thankfully it's still too far away. We had a good time up there this year, though it was a LOT warmer and there was very little snow and water. Two years ago we were walking across snow drifts hiking up to Lamoille. This is in July. The creeks were cold enough to keep your beer cold. This year we were able to take a dip in the creek without turning blue.

Damn! Thanks for the info bro. Unfortunately, I'm well past my warranty. I put about 30k a year on my truck unfortunately. She's barely a year and a half old and I've already got 47k on her...

Damn, I don't k ow how y'all do it. Especially the heavy equipment etc. I tow a average 18' ski boat prob a little above 3k lbs with fuel and its not necessarily the towing but stopping it def is challenging at times. Even slight to moderate inclines will bring me down to 35 mph sometimes unless I'm hammering the throttle.

People that are tow the heavy machinery have trailer brakes. It can make all the difference in the world. I agree that the Tacoma brakes are a little lacking. I also noticed something else interesting. When I tow my motorcycle in my enclosed trailer my truck works a lot harder than when I pull my heavier Toyota Celica on a car dolly. The wind resistance plays a major role in how hard your truck has to work to tow something.

Yeah this is true, just looking at those massive loads behind these little trucks makes me cringe based on how my truck tows the boat. My trailer has brakes but try have never been operable since I have had the boat as I've never towed it a long distance. Maybe ill work on getting them operable especially after my I code cd yesterday coming to an intersection in wet conditions and my truck slid/ABS kicked in for the last couple feet I came to a stop.

I agree Pac. I tow about 3200-4000 lbs (16' double axle trailer. Teryx 4 sxs, and sometimes a ATV. It's fine at 60 MPH and below but it struggles trying to run 70 on the interstate, not to mention 9-10 MPG pulling this. I can't imagine trying to tow the 6500 lbs it's rated to tow plus my TSB springs are sagging! These are great reliable trucks but I'm not impressed with its towing performance. Fortunately, a friend hauls this load with his Duramax normally and we split gas money... A win win for both of us!
