I did a thread about getting my Hella 4000 halogens converted to HID by GG Lighting. I drove to their 'facility' in Orange County... I had a great experience with Cody and told him I would do a write up to help his business.

    That thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/170860-hid-conversion-my-hella-4000-halogens-today.html

The first time I turned on the Hellas after getting home, one of the ballasts exploded (popped, went dead).

No problem, Cody sent me another. The next issue was the flicking/ moving of the light (as viewed against my garage wall)...??? Cody sent me replacements, okay... still not a big deal to me.

The replacements were blue lights, Cody said it must be 6000ºK instead of 5000. They look like 7000 or 8000 to me? I finally got two 5000's, with white light, but not after several weeks and from someone else helping Cody, as Cody just dropped off the face of the earth as far as communication goes.

I don't wish bad luck to anyone, but I also feel compelled to warn of possible issues for my TW friends. Cody would not answer his phone when I called, but my son used his phone and Cody answered. When my son asked why he wouldn't take my call, Cody hung up on my son.

In 2011, I did try to help this young businessman working out of his parents' garage, and what seemed like a sweet deal and friendly connection turned into poor quality materials and repeated wrong or failed replacements. The deal breaker was his lack of communications and follow up. He had a good friend who came in and rescued Cody, and while I rarely turn the lamps on, they still work (or did)... flickering arc and all. ;)

I guess I lost the part where I make sure that all of my customers are taken care of, but for some reason people go else where and end up getting screwed. Ive only heard of this guys reputation, and david we had talked and
I told you we could get your 4000s converted, but you went another way. There has been a company here with one way or another has made sure to take care of socal tacomas, and will be damned if someone that wants to rip people off and disappear will take advantage at this forums good will. A couple of pods doesnt make up for that.

    IMO, just my .02

Yup. There's a reason most of my lights are from Chris.

This is exactly the bullshit I'm getting tired of.. I try to do a lot of different things to get guys discounts and get a REAL club and set up donations for our events/meets. But I'm seriously getting pretty tired of spending so much time and effort to just have everyone be ungrateful and say "oh you got a light sponsor willing to give guys lights at really affordable prices. Dude they suck" well then it's not for you let someone else who might be interested enjoy the deal...

Examples of what I heard come out of raffle winner's mouths:

    Oh I won that
Ehh I don't need it but I guess I can sell em
    I just bought this
Yeah, all I won was this
Can I trade this for that
Can we do the raffle this way so I can buy tickets for what I want only

After spending months organizing meets and spending all my free time talking and meeting with tons of companies and being proud of what was accomplished.. These comments are a personal slap in the face to me and everyone else who spent time setting that up.

So to end this IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET LEMONS Be thankful for the lemons you were blessed with and stop asking for lemonade and remember it took someone a lot of time and effort to grow that lemon for you to have..

Why would you bring in another lighting guy outside of CSJUMPER? He does free install for the local guys that are on here, he can get light bars and any LED or lighting product you need all the way down to flasher modules? Why not 1.) keep it in the group 2.) Go with somebody who has proven customer service and isnt crooked?

This is just my .02 on the situation. We ALL appreciate the effort that you, Manny, have personally put into the SOCALTACOMAS. And as far as I know most if not all have voiced that appreciation to you and Steve.

Speeaking of that, back when we changed out my pulleys we didnt change the cranckshaft seal and its leaking ever since. We discussed that right after but I have not followed thru. lol I have the seal kit sitting here. Just need to make time to get up to you to change it out. ;)

    Hi Chris,

I talked to several people, and because I could drive to his place and have it done, while I waited, for a fair price, I went to GG Lighting after some good things were posted here.

I naturally wished I came to you, but there must have been a compelling reason to go to Cody, it was a while ago...

GG light parts were not high quality, Chinese made, came from another HID vendor many buy parts from, bulbs mis-labeled, ballasts and bulbs failed, and then Cody stopped communicating with me or anyone else (I was told) due to some issues in his life, not sure?

TWers, go to Chris for your HID needs! :)

    THIS! :D

Specially 4WD runs... so I don't have to pull any Prerunners for a change (but I don't mind helping 2WD people if they need it and I am there)!
