What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Used it as a truck and brought my DEF fluid recyclables home for disposal;neighbors just looked on..

Paid the State of NH $$$ to register it for another year and Saturday morning it will go to get a state inspection Sticker....

My favorite dealership tech is going to as I have put a whole 3000 miles on in 12 months ...

Need to decide if I will paint the drivers exterior door trim or actually buy a new piece of trim....the black is peeling off and the CHROME underneath totally distracts from the green/black theme ...

Installed my

$53 Hayden 678 Universal Rapid-Cool 9.5” x 11” Add-On Transmission Cooler – Not for Direct Replacement of the OE Cooler

Hayden 678 transmission cooler, mounted it directly to A/C condensor. Surprisingly solid mount with the hardware that was supplied.

 

Spent 3 hours installing a rear license plate frame backup camera with rearview mirror LCD. Something's wonky with the camera and it's aimed way left and doesn't look adjustable. I tried putting spacers on that side to correct for this, and it helped a little, but if I put any more it'll look really wonky.

Maybe I'll finally be able to get close to the boat tongue the first try...

Want to drive up here and put one in for me?

I'd actually consider that if there wasn't the distance issue. It wasn't really hard to do, just took a bit of time trying to figure out the right way to do it.

Seems to work ok so far. The mirror appears to be a little darker than the OEM mirror, but I think that'll be ok. I can see what's behind me.

And I picked up some license plate frame security screws for $3 at Knecht's, just to make it inconvenient for would be thieves.

 

Your numbers are very similar to Gearhead's.

The numbers in red are the issue. Your Caster is quite low. How does it drive?

An experienced alignment tech should be able to coax at least +1.0 degrees of caster out of a 3" lifted front with stock UCAs. I too have a firestone liftime and have had ro use it. Take it back and complain about the twitchy, skittish steering. Ask for their most experienced tech and tell him what you want. Toe and camber at 0 degrees with as much positive caster as possible.

The real solution tho is aftermarket UCAs. Ones that add a minimum of +2 degrees of of caster.
