So, I'm looking at doing a OME lift at some point in the future, but I have a few concerns. (aka I'm a total lift noob)

1 - can someone do this with a jack and a few stands?
2 -can someone do it with just some hand tools, the instructions, and whatever daylight there is?
3 - the front is adjustable for height correct?
4 - would I need anything else then what come with the Toytec OME kit?
5 - how badly am I gunna want to go from 265's to 285's?

    Thanks guys.

You two bozos should be happy that I approve of your answers :D

I didn't see mention of shims or the trim packer, both of which are optional. I also feel you were both negligent in mentioning that he can get the fronts shipped preassembled, thus truly making this a total at home install.

Dammit...I always forget the trim packer since any reputable seller will make sure you get it. Pre-assembly is worth the money too in my book.

    You're a jean-e-us!

 trim packer is optional? I ordered from DSM and trim packer and CB drop come with the kit. The dakars do not come with rear bushings though, toytec includes them.

Fortunately and sometimes unfortunately the kits get added to, as you mentioned. Mine came "bare bones" and I had to order the smaller items.

Kevin what kind of lights do you have behind your grill? I saw that you have 4 now, homemade mount or bamf?

The hellas are the bigger pair you have? And you have a deep lip satoshi right? I might need to do the same thing, looks badass. Any plans to convert the 500s to HIDs?

    Front Rear Rake

    884/Dakar-3rd (22) (24) (2)
    883/Dakar-3rd (21 1/2) (24) (2,1/2)
    Stock (20 1/2) (22) (1 1/2)

So does this seem about right? If I want to get the same rake I had with the 885/Dakar combo I should pair the 883's with the Dakar's having the 3rd leaf removed? I'm thinking because they loose weight carrying capability when you remove the 3rd leaf, I might sit only at a 1 1/2" rake when loaded, and I want to stay raked or at worst level when loaded.

Would 1" over stock require aftermarket UCA's?

edit: Sorry, formatting from excel doesn't stay the same.

According to this thread, you'll only be at 23 3/8" with the 3rd leaf removed. Not sure about your front measurements for the other springs since I have 885s but if you have accurate numbers for the front you'll have about 2" of rake.

And with 1" of lift, you will not need new UCAs. Around 2.5" is where you start running into issues. Could be more, could be less....seems to depend on the truck.

I have been riding 883's/Dakar minus 3rd/5100's for a few months.
    Front 22.25
    Rear 23.00
The ride is great and load carrying is perfect for the car.
It is the suspension Toyota should have put on to begin with.
