oh man, that's too funny, i just looked at their facebook page.

ended up planning a last minute trip back there for yesterday. had a great time again. tried my hand at a lot more of the black trails since i didn't have to worry about any other vehicles. got into some sticky situations, but made it out unscathed.

Thanks for riding along last weekend, David, had a great time wheeling with you. hope to do it again.

like we talked about, here are some pictures of what you can do with 265 all terrains. no one said you needed big tires for wheeling.....though they do help a little.
    line choice is key

Thanks Colin, for the great time down there and the education on what I can do with mine. Like I said my main concern is banging up my undercarriage, since I don't have skids in place yet nor sliders. I can just picture a rock gouging my fuel tank. Oh I also have 245 A/T. 265's are a future investment.

I saw that you went down over the weekend, someone posted that you were there on Krocks pic of you. Glad to see your enjoying the trails while in town.

I have to work both Sat & Suns so it's kinda hard for me to take off. However, I do have 2 weeks paid I have to use by Oct. So we could see about another weekend in the near future as long as your in town.

There is another place to wheel that is about the same distance drive called Tuttle Creek ORV, I would like to check this area out, it's a free day use area. A few links for you to check. Maybe we can get Reeves to join since it's in his neck of the woods. He might know the trails there.

Let me know what you think and maybe we can plan something in the next month or so. I need at least 2 weeks to ask off.

I suppose I should upload these pics of our trucks at Krocks. Came out pretty good. I should of taken more pics but was having way to much fun bouncing around in your truck, lol!
Almost forgot, my buddy with the Tundra went down the next day after we were there and said there were 5 wheelers there, like a ghost town. Kicking himself in the ass for not coming down on Sat. Said the trails were really muddy.

Just picked up my first Tacoma. Would love to go up to Krocks sometime, never been. But it might be awhile till my truck is ready for that. I'm around the Emporia area.

Anyone have a stock intake for the 4.0 laying around? wanting to do a snorkel, but i can't for the life of me, think of a good way to hook one up to an aftermarket style intake and still have it be dust and watertight.

Only thing I can think of is hooking up a filter box at the end. What's the pipe made out of?

thanks, i've gotten a couple of PMs already.

Right now i'm running a home built aftermarket style intake with a cone filter.

I made an filter box out of some thin guage sheet steel, and then heavily insulated it. the pipe from the throttle body to the box is plastic. it works great as far as intakes go, but it is in no way watertight if i were to dunk my hood for longer than a few seconds.

I'd start looking into some quality boots. Ones made for the turbo guys and high pressure clamps. What you have intake wise should be good or work out well.

as much as i'd like to use the one i made, even if i could figure out how to seal it up completely, the interface between the snorkel and the box would be very tricky due to space limitations. having the filter back in the stock location would allow me to just bend a piece of pipe to go from the snorkel at the innner fender, to the box, and just attach it with two cilicone boots like what you're refferring to.

I was just wondering if any of you kansas guys have problems with rust. I know they salt our roads but it doesn't snow that much, just wondering since Tacoma's are know for rusting pretty bad.

Wash and wax that's all you need to do, every time I go off roading I usually spend and hour or two washing my undercarriage

Awesome pics Colin. I remember passing a few of those black trails when we were there 2 weeks ago.
My vaca hours came in on my check today, I used 16 hrs that week we went and still have 204 hrs, I need to use 44 before Oct. Let me know if you want to check out Tuttle Creek ORV in the near future.

Mine's pretty bad, definitely on track to rust through before the 2019 deadline my '04 has. It spent most of its life in the KC area and then moved to Rapid City, SD and now is in Iowa. Haven't had a winter here yet but the KC and Rapid City plows use heavy amounts of salt
