    No sentimental value at all. It's a new to me (5 months) 2011. I sold my 4x4 F-350 because I couldn't keep a front end in it that would last more than 20k miles, and I had just moved here from Washington state. I figured it was so flat here and without snow I wouldn't want 4 wheel drive. Well, to make a long story short.... I regret that decision!

    Don't know if I will make the leap on the conversion, but if you happened to know some poor schmuck :spy: who had the mechanical know how; what would it cost in labor?

    With how plentiful 4wd Tacos are, how could it possibly be worthwhile to convert a PreRunner? Consider not only the cost of the conversion but the hit on resale value (I imagine most people wouldn't touch a converted truck with a 10 foot pole)...

    I could maybe see it if the truck were older and not worth much of anything and/or hard to find in 4wd, but a 2011 Taco? Only way I'd even consider it would be if you're planning on going irreversibly extreme with the thing anyway (gutted, full cage, etc. - such that it essentially no longer had an value in the "normal" car market) and it worked out considerably cheaper or stronger / more durable.

    Or if I was really drunk... But I haven't had much other than the occasional beer for years.

    Is there some huge advantage to doing the conversion that outweighs the list of negatives, assuming non-competition use of the vehicle?

    If the truck is relatively stock then it's not worth the hassle. But some guys have alot of money time and mods in their prerunner and if they don't plan on selling the taco then it's totally worth it.
