So I've started to create a slosh fund for my truck... and I was going to save the $4600 to install the Icon Stage 4 extended travel mid-travel kit i wanted.
But I've gotten very impatient and driving a stock truck is mundane.

so heres the link to the suspension i want...
    http://www.iconvehicledynamics.com/...ota-Tacoma-Suspension-System-%2d-Stage-4.html

my inquiry is as follows, in what order can i add parts to my truck so i can at least get some lift and performance out of it, without having to drop the whole $4600.

I've read that people usually go:

    1.) coilovers (remove strut)
    2.) UCA
    3.) strut re-locaters
    4.) rear add a leaf
    5.) rear reservoirs

is that the safe and correct order for lifting your truck in parts... Also is the kit missing anything like break line extenders? or stuff like that.

You could deff build in stages.....basically get the stage 2 but keep the front lift low and don't over extend the flex on the front until you have the UCA's for the extra travel. Add the tubular UCA's later instead of the billet one's (cheaper but dont look as bad ass).

Hit up SDHQ and DSM for better pices and TW discount!

And who would you recommend for the tubular UCA?

So like I said, except do the coil overs, then back end, then finish the front. Perfect

Shoot me a PM, or i can send you one that we can do in stages for ya! I have it all in stock, if you feel like making the trek down the hill, come see me, or we can ship to ya!

But 100% we can do this in stages so you can do the front, then rear, then complete.

I did all this man except for the leaf springs. Started out with some coil overs then some rear shocks, then the uppers. I'm gonna do some leafs too in the near future

I contacted Downsouth Motorsports. They have a "build your own mid travel package" on their website. That's what I did. I got some TC UCAs, front coilover with RR, rear lift (icon mini pack) an rear shocks with RR for around $3,500. I just did it all at once and love my setup!

I fully endorse upgrading your LCA sooner than later btw... the stock ones will break if you actually use your mid travel as... well... mid travel.

    Plus it looks smexy.

SDHQ: When I've saved enough for the extended travel coil overs, i will definitely make the trek down the hill for them. Just wanted to know the order so i could save accordingly

And LCA will probably go with finishing the front end, just as long as i can find a LCA that fits with the midtravel length of the Icon UCA

Definitely check out SDHQ.. They did mine and are a top rate shop.. I'm in Flag every weekend to ride my mtn bike so if you'd like to take a ride in my set up just let me know.. But SDHQ will also definitely guide you on the right path with your budget...

OP, you might also want to consider pricing with these guys.

    http://www.metaltech4x4.com/default.aspx

They ran a special earlier this year that was a lot less than any other vender, free shipping and no tax.

While it is cool to buy local, on the big items, tax and shipping could be a good chunk saved for a future upgrade.

As far as ICON in stages, consider that you can get stock travel fronts, and have them easily converted with an internal spacer swap and fluid change later. The 2.0 series aluminum bodies will get you some good rear suspension on a budget.

As for lift, without getting crazy, just leveling the truck with front preload is noticed.

My suggestion, get in the game with the base product you desire, (rezzy or non rezzy) on all 4 corners. Save and then upgrade your rear spring and front arms, and brake hoses for your desired look.

I'm the kind of person who only does things once. So I wanna get the suspension I've read and done research to be the best for me. And don't wanna be spending half the cost for the look then spending more later

I was talking JerryTaco and i'm convinced on the tubular UCA instead of the billet so thats gonna save me a good amount.

I'm getting the CDC shocks and leaf kit in the back if thats what you mean?

With the savings you get from going with the tubular uca's over the billet you can do the CDC's front and rear.. I'm running the CDC's in the front, and like I was telling you earlier, it is amazing.. Best decision I made(thanks to Ryan at SDHQ) was to pay just a little extra for the CDC's in the front..
