So I had an OME/Dakar/LR UCA that I was stupid and took off and sold. Pretty much immediately regret it and looking to lift my truck again.

    1.
King Standard Travel RR Coilovers (used - 90k miles, rebuilt 10k ago)
Dakar Rear leafs (30k on them)
Icon 2.5" smooth body rear shocks (from a TW member, 500 miles on them)
    LR UCA's

    $1750

    2.
    OME 885x
    Dakar
    Nitrocharger Sport's
    LR UCA's

All new, same as what I had before

    $1600

If you are going to get coilovers I recommend getting a uniball upper control arm, just to get the most out of your coilovers.

Otherwise the #2 setup looks rock solid.

I've read the LR UCA's are fine to use with an exteded travel coilover.

Here's a link where someone forces the susp. down further than it would go, and the LR ball joint still has room to move. (Post 32)

I have coilovers and LR's, and yea they are just fine, but a uniball will net you more travel, period. If you aren't concerned with the extra travel, then just get the OME's as it is a great setup.

Options 1 with TC uppers. New Kings will cost almost as much as the entire setup you are possibly getting. I would still have them rebuilt.

Hi Colton, I made that post. got tired of people afguing over weather or not the LRs work with extended travel and people having no evidence in either direction, so i went out, removed the ball joint boot, bolted everything back together, and too the photos. Guess it hasn't done much good though, as it seems most people aren't as good at digging around and reasearching as you are.

bottom line is that you'll be good to go with either setup. My next set of upper arms will have iniballs. granted it's long travel, so that's all you use, but if i were to get another set of stock length upper control arms, i would probably get uniballs. not for strength or travel reasons, LRs are fine for that. i'd do it for maintanance reasons. sure they require more maintenance, but they are also easier to maintain than a ball joint. it's a tradeoff.

on a stock length arm setup, uniballs will not net you more travel. your coilover will limit how far your suspension drops, and that limit is set to a very precise amount. go out and get your truck on some jack stands, unbolt the lower shock mount, and push the suspension down even just another half inch. with it over extended even that small amount, you will feel the cv starting to bind as you turn the hub.

How bout the Camburg 2.5 Performance kit? Uniball UCAs, SAW 2.5 c/o shocks and rear Bilstein 5100 shocks. Built in house, products all made in US with air craft grade hardware. With this kit, you will gain 10.5" of wheel travel, and about 2.5" of lift. We also use a bigger and stronger 1.25" uniball. This kit is ideal for a daily driver and also some trail and off road. It's an all around great kit, all bolt onto stock location and does not require fenders. Let me know and I can hook you up!

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
It would be nice to have some rebuildable coilovers like the kings. But the OME setup is a nice solid choice also. I voted 1st option because I thought it was brand new but theyve already been rebuilt. Im a fan of new stuff. So, maybe new OME setup is the way to go, either way I think both options will do you well.

Slummin: to hang out- or go out with someone on a lesser scale lol.

We don't see Camburg much over here on TW, especially offering someone a deal.

The 2.5 Performance Kit runs $1,999.00 and you can also add leaf springs for the rear. And all TW members get 10% off :D That comes with the uniball UCAs, c/o and rear shocks.
