I went to ECGS. Satisfied. Slight gear whine at 30km/h then disappears. I've heard good things from JT too.

Thanks guys. I'm not really savvy on drivetrain and had trouble navigating the site so I sent them an email to make sure I get it right before ordering parts online. Don't 5lugs run 4.10's?

He is correct, you could browse through the BST section, there is usually a set of 4.10s floating around there, I'd also look on CL and TTORA. The 4.10s came with 4 cyl. tacos from the factory.

If I wanted a brand new set I should be searching under 4cl specs and it would fit my 8" front?

You're 4x4 right? So you need to swap front and rear. If you swap the front, you also need the factory 4.10 carrier, as the dimensions are slightly different than the 3.73 front carrier you have.

    Best way to go 4.10 a 4x4 is to watch/search the buy-sell-trade section and buy someone's take-offs.

ECGS seems to have an option for that...

"If you want 4.88, 3.90, 4.10, or 4.30 gears and have 3.73 gears and you will need to add an ARB or a 3.90 and up carrier from the drop down tab. If you have 3.90 and up gears and want 4.56 gears you will need the 3.73 and down carrier we will provide this carrier free of charge in exchange for your carrier while supplies last"

Damn this is blowing my mind... What's the best route for me to take if I wanna stay simple and regear up to 4.10. Running 33's? I have a stock 09 4x4 2nd gen, open-open. Its my daily driver so i dont wanna go too high. Getting a front ARB (rd111) and wanna regear while I'm in there. I appreciate the help btw

So super noob question... How much does it generally cost to regear to 4.56 or 4.88? Ballpark

I'm not sure what part of what I said you're disagreeing with?

There are two different size carriers.

They are made by the factory.

It must be that I said the "best way" to get them is from another member, and that's certainly a debatable point.

ECGS you buy what you want. They build it, send it to you in a bucket. You install the assembled thirds (super easy). Next step is you send ECGS your old 3rds. ECGS receives them and refunds your core charges. Easy day.

Or you can find a wreaked 4cyl 4x4 and pull them. Thats the cheapest but longest route. I bought my 3rd from a salvage yard and called it a day. Best part is you get to keep you 3.73 thirds for the eventual day that you go back to stock and sell the truck.

    SELL MY TRUCK!?!?!..... Never! Lol

    So...
    1. Buy ARB front locker (rd111)
    2. Find a wrecked 5lug and pull front and rear 4.10 ring and pinion
    3. Clear my weekend
    4. Pick up some overtime

If I can't salvage the gears, what are the specs for the set of ring and pinions i will need to order?
