I have a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 with the 3-Leaf Pac. Springs are flat and Toyota tells me that the TSB only applies within warranty. I have a guy here in town that specializes in only leaf springs and suggests that adding a leaf and re-arching is more than sufficent. It's $550 for a the job or $850 for a new 4-leaf pac with new u-bolts and installation. Seems kinda of high when I could purchase aftermarkets for less and install myself. The bottoming out is a pain. I welcome all thoughts..

WTF. Or buy a pack of aftermarket leaf springs for less than 500.

What's your budget and I'd recommend going surge the old man emu leaf pack its about 400 bucks gives you about 2.5 inch lift and can handle alot of weight

I read mixed reviews on aftermarket leaf packs. Has anyone found a good solution?

Asa, do you tow a lot? Do you use your truck for a lot of heavy loads? Or do you just do normal daily driving and SOMETIMES use your bed and tow package? Do you off-road a lot? All these are things we will need to help you with your decision on leaf packs. Obviously, there are a lot of leaf packs you can choose from, and many of them have been posted on this website, all with reviews all on their own. If you give us what you are doing with your truck we may be able to steer you in the right way to help you out. Otherwise, if you would like to search around for yourself you can either use the search function up top to help speed yourself up, or go to one of the many sections on here.

If you are doing the latter, I would start with the "suspension" area, or the "product review" section to help yourself out.

It's typically a daily driver however, the following are factors:

Crew Cab with a family of 4
Lots of camping gear and various loads
I have a motorcyle hitch mount for my KTM
    I have a fibergalss topper
Basic off-roading in the Sierras but not crawling or anything like that.

I would like some lift in the front as well but could not justify it if I was spending the $850 on leaf springs. Also, I do not want the look as though the truck is jacke up in the back. Looking for more of a level rake.

Thanks for the williness to give feedback.

This will net you ZERO lift and give you better load capacity seeing how you have a fiberglass topper. You can also go with the Ironman 4x4 leaf pack which generally gives a 2" lift. You can more than likely take out an extra leaf or two to make it work.

Also, a GREAT option is someone on here named 4wd (old man doug). He does leaf packs, made to order.

Go to this link, and send him a message. See if he has some available/can make some and how much he charges and his time constraints with them. I am sure he would be the best person to help you out as well if you don't want to go the store bought way.

The OME Dakars are great leafs but you probably don't want to go that route because they give quite a bit of lift. I'd go with Haslefre's suggestions.

I have these. They will lift the truck. I gained about 1" with a leaf removed from each spring.

Still a good product, but I haven't had them for that long. I did tow a fairly heavy trailer about 700 miles with them a couple weeks after installing them.

Asa, with what u want to use your truck for, u will need to modify the rear springs at least.
I am in the same boat.
As mentioned above, search the forums for rear spring refurbishing.
Its alot, but read the whole thing.
Bottom line, get some junk chevy springs, add them to your leafpack, & u will be in good shape. You will save $, & be much happier with your truck.
