Well the FJs that came up did. CaliAsh had some hand helds but I guess the channel and code they told us was wrong. Only thing that really messed us up was the locals who weren't apart of TW or the FJ group. A guy in a F150 totally left us behind twice not to mention the old gentleman in his stock Dakota who was having some issues. Visability was poor in most parts due to the amount of dust that was kicked up. In the end we all had fun and enjoyed the extra wheeling getting lost got us. Like I said scenery was great and the cause was worth the trip.

No sorry...It was in Tahoe National Forest near Graeagle if that helps. I was trying to see if they have anything online regarding the trail but my work computer won't allow it. Camp Wamp is the organization we helped out.

If you are asking if we were given one, that would be a no. Honestly, we were not given much of what I would call a "convoy brief" except the "keep the guy behind you in your review mirrior" and a FRS channel and channel code. Really not sure if I set my radios up wrong, or the channel/code were wrong but I could only talk to Angel and vice versa.

I am guessing since most of the FJ group and the few locals helping knew the route from doing the run multiple years everyone just assumed we all knew were to go.

First seperation occurred because the lead part of the group was hauling ass on the early stage of the trail (basically a fire road). We got seperated in the heavy dust (we were in the rear of about 25ish vehicle and no wind) and missed a turn. They actually stopped on this one and were waiting not very far up the correct trail.

The second time, one of the FJ guys got seperated and took a wrong turn and led our small adventurous group on another side expedition.

Just like Angel, I was havin fun for the most part and was enjoying the wheeling. We did have one trail FJ with us that was trying to keep everyone together and was being cool with us. Let's just say he was not so happy with some of the other FJ guys. ;)

Now, if you were asking about the location of the trail for later use, I could probably figure something out.

For the future runs, get Gaia GPS. I use it with my iphone whenever I go hit up a trail or backpacking and it's worked out great for me.

    http://www.gaiagps.com/

topo maps, super detailed ESRI sat maps, Mapquest (OpenMaps). ability to make a custom route, drop pin points, and download maps for offline use.

    works w/ Android and iOS.

Sweet, I'll check it out after work today. In other news I got stopped again because of my Trasharoo. I should probably take it off my truck so people stop thinking I'm losing luggage out of my bed. :p

Any of you guys ever ship bumpers before? Just trying to see what the cheapest and easiest way is. I looked at Greyhound and it's quoted at $95.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I think it was in front of the intel building. But man I envy your truck  I drive one of the many MGM TRD's that's running around base. I want to get a Tacoma World sticker, where did you get yours?

When I got my bumper from Billy at Bruteforce he used Fastenal. It was slightly cheaper that the $95...Cost $85 if that makes a difference.

Yea that's where I work for now. PCS in October. Say wassup if you ever see me near the truck. Like Brian said PM TCbob and he can send you one.

Haven't found any GPS stuff yet but did find at least one link that described the run fairly well.

I could actually follow the trail we took (and wrong turns) by reading it. It probably makes more sense to me since I have a visual memory of the trail now. http://www.vacationgraeagle.com/4x4offroading.html

From everything else I ran across, it looks like there are a lot of nice trails up in that area.

Depends where it goes. Some heavy stuff will go cheap via OnTrac or a local shipper.
