Black Sand Pearl factory paint - flattened "au natural" by tree branches.
Mine went to a scrap yard. Then I did the wheel swap, then it went to auction later. It has to go somewhere in between so that the insurance company can look at it. It was there for a few weeks, I drove by it every day :D

Put on a soft topper, touched up my front skid plate. Washed it, and changed the oil.

If they total your truck they are paying you for it as it is when it is evaluated - Pulling parts off for them to "walk away" IS stealing. Do whatever you like, but don't advocate it on this site.

Used a Bullaculla adapter plate and mounted the trailer socket out of the way. I run 265x75x16 tires so the bracket just barely fit in there. But it is there now and it does not actually touch the spare tire but it is close. Looks good, it is sturdy and it'll keep the socket from getting ripped off of there.

    De-Flapped, De-badged. Sockmonkey decals installed.
Had to replace the bearings on the driver side and rotors on the front end. The bearings making this awful sound like I was rolling on some mud tires that I didn't have. Then, with the brakes it was shaking like crazy when I would brake. Especially down hills and while on the freeway. I thought they would just shake right off at times. Now, the noise is gone and the I come to a smooth stop.

Looks great painted black! Good to know it fits with the 265/75/16. I had to make a major offset short one to clear a 285.

Drooled over expo AC and RCs, wished I had an extra 40k to spend on a truck that isn't practical at all.

Often, an insurance company will repair a "totalled" vehicle & resell it, either under a salvage title, or (illegally), the original.

My ex had a silver '79 Supra that she totalled... it had a problem with the rear axle that made a noise like a bad bearing (unrelated to the crash that totalled it).

A year later, we got a call from a guy who wanted to know if she had owned a tan '79 Supra... they had repaired it, painted it, and sold it without telling him that it had been wrecked (pretty badly, too - ran into a tree at 50mph). We knew it was the same Supra because his had the exact same rear axle noise.

Insurance companies are the worst thieve out there. Just look at the skyline of any major city - the biggest, most ostentatious ones are owned by the big insurance companies. They didn't get there by being above-board & honest.
