Love the color, hate the chrome. I've had my Desert Eagle now for 2.5 years. It has served me so well. This summer I'm going to start improving on the truck. Slap on some Wheeler's steelies and 265 Duratracs. I'm not going to lift it, but def plan on running 5100s front and rear. The long-term goal of replacing front and rear bumper with something more aggressive is high on my list. It's a 2006 4 cyl manual, 4X4. Here's a pic from the hills above Jenner, CA. Not me in the truck.

There are a few of us around. I think DSM was available on the Tacoma for 3 years (2005-2007).

Mine is a 2008 model. I had to wait 3 months on it to get built and painted DSM. Salesman said he had never seen a person with new car fever wait so patiently. I did email San Antonio plant and told them to send a barrel of DSM paint to California so I can get my new truck.

Just got this 06 Tacoma a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't crazy about the color when I got it but the deal was so good I couldn't pass it up. However, I have only seen one other truck on the road this color and I like having a truck that not many other people have. The truck is a 4 banger 5 speed with 50,000 miles and looks like it was just taken out of the showroom. Love that the color doesn't show dirt as much as other colors. Also glad I got the 4 cyl because I am getting 22 around town. Can't wait to see how this thing handles the crazy snow in Blacksburg! :D

You are right, it does look real sharp. I love the fact it hides the road grime real well too.

Even thought it does hide dirt well, if I know it is dirty, it is getting washed. I do like to get it dirty though to give it a little character.

08 was the last year of this color option for the Tacoma. Had an 02 Tundra in the same color. Just bought (5 weeks ago) an 08 AC TRD OR SR5 in DMS. Love it. V6, auto., factory tow pkg. Had 32.7k miles. Leer 700 hard shell cover.

All I have done so far is add a Scangauge, Garmin 50LM, and a scanner. Will be putting Firestone ride rites on it this fall. Would love to get the bronze TRD rims for it. How do other DMS owners think these would go with the color?

    This is a great forum.

Tell me about it; I do not know how but the first year I owned mine I washed it by hand once a week except for a couple of times I was sick. I have no idea where all of that sort of energy came from, especially for a 51 year old man. I think it had something to do with just getting the dream truck of my life or something. :)

I was not too fond of the color at first, but it won me over by hiding dirt so damn well. I never knew there was a color that hid dirt even better than white. Yours looks like an SR5 with a limited slip differential. You will find out that it handles snow awesome! My DSM Tacoma will look like the ultimate old man truck because I'm keeping the chrome AND I'm getting an aluminum shell put on it in 3 days.

Call me weird but I would like to have a tent addition for the bed whenever I go hunting. Don't really know when else I would use it but it just makes the truck look like a true all purpose vehicle. And their is nothing wrong with a shell! Just depends on your preferences and hey, it's your truck to do what you want with!

Maybe because they look so damn good cleaned up! Whenever I wash my truck I feel like I just got a new one. Makes me happy!

Finally, the DSM's emerge lol. I'm the only DSM in my area that I've seen since I bought my truck new in '07.

And a great poser pic it is! Nice truck

I'm telling you man, DSM is going to be the new black or silver since everyone's buying them! This color done with some minor mods can start to look sexy
