All right, new 13 dbc 4x4 TRD owner. I have never lifted a truck before and looking at all the threads on here I am even more confused now then I was before. I want to lift the suspension 2-3 inches, no more. I want to make sure that I do everything I need to to keep a good ride and not cause premature wear and tear. So what do you recommend, and do I need to drop the front and rear differential too.

Honestly if someone can just tell me everything I need to buy or suggest a really good all in one kit that would be ideal. Please help!

I know a feller that's had his for years no wear and tear and trust me beats the truck up . It only cost like 80 dollars for my 06 so lol that's what I did

Bilstein 5100 w/ Eibach springs is a fairly cheap way to go or I just ordered OME 90000 shocks w/ OME 885 springs and 2" block in the rear

deepsee,go back throw all the threads and differ for your self all the pro's and con's. Look for key works like alignment problems, vibration problems, also needing to replace upper control arms etc. What I did was I read what others did and the problems they encountered and that is what I stayed away from. I also asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research on this forum. Your right it can be very confusing if you wont to do it right and with no problems. This is a great forum and it has a lot of information. If you have questions do a search, if you can't find the answer just ask us and we are all willing to help. Good luck. :D

Don't put blocks in the rear! Good way to weaken already weak leafs and give yourself even more axle wrap.

Do you have a budget? There's so many options out there, it's hard to give you advice without knowing how much you want to spend.

I got it, do a search. Ive noticed that every time someone ask a question some says do a search. So I will try this, I am looking for suggestions for a 2-3 inch suspension lift. My budget is what ever it takes to do it right. So what do you guys think what is the best lift for a double cab (not spacers).

The 3" toytec coil over bilstien lift I had was awesome! About $850 for everything

    No diff drops needed

You will also want some adjustable upper control arms

There's not enough bandwidth for what's happening.
    My opinon ...

OME is best for the dollar if looking for lift with suspension that beats stock and can take an occasional off road beating. Next up from there is King, Icon, Fox, etc.

No matter what route you take, GET BETTER UCAs !!!!!! (Light Racing, Total Chaos, Camburg, etc.) Then, find an alignment shop that knows what its doing.

^^^This! You won't be disappointed with this lift. I've had mine a year and a half and love it. Go with the Dakars, LR UCA's, and carrier bearing drop. You don't need the diff drop on the 2nd gens. Don't forget to ask them for the TW discount too. LR UCA's can be bought on here during a group buy for a really good price (Last one I saw was $375 shipped).

Ok seems like the OEM kit seems to be the best option. Sorry for the stupidity but Ive been driving a prerunner since 08 so never needed a lift but there are some other options with that OEM kit that I am not sure about:

Front top spacers: what are they/should I get them?

Assemble front shocks/coils with new bushings: do I need them the truck is brand new dealer delivers it tomorrow

Differential drop kit: Do I need this/is it a good idea? Some of the post above say no on 2nd gen tacos

rear shock stone guards: What are the/should I get them?
