No blue on his shocks. I think ill be buying some too. Would rather have my coils, shock body's and shafts free from sand blasting than having everything exposed looking pretty.

I didn't look hard enough at this front end at the last meet...is he running the black kings?

And yeah, I guess so. My Icons have got some nice pitting on them from the last few desert trips we did.

    Ya. Even the bypasses.

Damn that sucks. Shafts aren't cheap and when they go, they destroy your wiper seals and your shocks will always leak. If I were you, id send them to icon, get new shafts, rebuild, new spherical bearings and clean up the bodies. Then put those Dirt Bags on. It will save you money down the road.

Well so far, the shafts look ok. It's just the body and coils that have some pitting and now the coils are beginning to rust a bit. I'm going to swap them for 700lb 14" coils and do the rebuild at the same time. I may be doing that within the next few weeks, just need to get my billies back from Brad in the meantime.

When I went out to Icon to pick up my caps I asked about the 14/700 spring and they said don't even bother unless you are going 250+lbs over stock in front. Just repeating what they told me.

Maybe because you have a Prerunner? I think with a 4x4 with my sliders and pelfreybilt bumper sounds like its just what I need.

I had a lengthy conversation with Jeremy at Icon about it.

Ya u just reminded me....since I get almost all my lift from spindles and have almost no preload is why I don't need the springs with the new bumper and winch.

I replaced my old #600 springs with #700 springs. Now with less preload and couldnt be happier!

I still have my old 16" #600 Fox springs for sale if anybody is interested. Free length still measures at 16"

Icon springs are 650/13 so it's not as big a jump

Yeah but if you look at how far down my collars are, you'll know what I mean. I don't have much travel. The springs are actually from DR, just tells you how old they really are.

I think I'll have a much better ride with the 700lbs 14" springs. I'll have the same lift with much less preload, more down travel, and less body roll.

Next is to talk to decide between sucking it up and ordering All Pro standards or talking to Deaver about a custom leaf pack. The J66 pack doesn't provide enough lift for me, and this AAL is really getting on my nerves.

I was responding to monkeyproof. I get why the heavier springs would work out for you as compared to me.

Have you considered the AllPro expo springs. Mine have held up nicely for the last year and a half. From towing my crawler to all the crap I pack for each weekend.

The difference from the 650/13 to 700/14 is actually pretty significant if there's a plate bumper, whench, skid plates, sliders etc etc etc...
