I love retrofits and plan on doing it to mine but since it's a silver truck I kind of like the chrome grill and the chrome part of the headlights.

Picked up some LED rock lights today. 20 modules with 3 LED's each for $40. Not sure how I'm going to mount them yet.. They all have 3m tape on the back but I don't see that lasting long. I might get some small self tapping screws since they have ears on both sides and screw them to the body. I'm thinking 6 down each rocker and 4 front and rear.

Don't like blacked out lights.. Or black on black/murdered out or whatever they call it these days.

Do like the idea of a retro fit projector though

This is true but I drove my 96 tacoma with manual locks and windows for 6 years and it got old. Now I feel like I'm living in the lap of luxury in my 2000 :D

I've had both, and even more fancy pants stuff in the new car I bought in 09 that I ended up trading in on my truck. The only time power windows are nice is if someone pulls up on your passenger side and you want to talk to them. But it's not a big deal, just reach across and roll up/ down. New vehicles have too many electronics, and everything is tied into everything else. I'll stick with my manual windows/ locks for now. Only thing I wish my truck had is cruise control.

Unfortunately, when the Mrs and I decide to pop out a giblet I will likely get a 2nd gen double cab since the 1st gen double cab's were not available in manual. Simpler is better IMO, much easier to troubleshoot and fix.

^I'm in the same boat as you. My '96 is manual everything and I love it... unless it comes to rolling down the passenger window.

When it comes to the kids, though, I'm keeping this truck. Wifey and I are starting her Grand Wagoneer diesel build to handle kid duties:headbang:
