    The one I had on my F250, I removed the front glass from the shell. I could see out of it a heck of a lot better then. My advice would be to get the shell without the front glass and have them install a gasket that seals the shell to the back of the cab. Barring that, get one that has the fold down front glass so you can clean it and the back window of the truck easier.

    As was said, keeping the glass clean is critical if you're going to be able to see out of it. I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but you have to be extra diligent with the shell glass than you normally do with the truck glass. Or you could just get used to using your outside rearviews. It's really not a bad practice to use anyway.

    I thought it seemed a little out of the way. But the guy who I think is the manager at my local store has really helped me out a lot. Hopefully Thursday, if not then it might be next Monday.

    There's a reason i've hand deelivered everything i've built for people that is too large to fit in a box.....

    i'm sure i'll have to fastenal one day to ship something, but i'm not looking forward to it.

    Well at least my new LEDs will be here tomorrow for my fogs. Got a pair of the "6 led pods" from okledlightbars. Basically the Chinese version of the Dually 2's.

    I am looking forward to playing with these tomorrow night when it gets dark. They should be pretty bright. And they are running a GB on them right now. Can't argue with a pair of them shipped to your door for $120.

    Got a question: I've almost talked myself into getting a dome mount for my CB antenna and mounting it on the roof. I have a 2' firestik with a spring base and I like the clean look and the large ground plane bonus I'd get from the dome mount. However, I'm worried that even with the spring, dragging the antenna under low hanging limbs and what not on the trails will eventually cause the sheet metal around the mount to work harden and crack. Is this a valid concern or am I just over thinking it?

    put a sizeable backing plate on the inside of the roof and you should be good to go. with just the dome mount itsself, i think your concern is valid. most of those mounts are more typically used with a whip, or even spring based whip. the firestiks are just so solid and heavy in comparison.

    Yeah, but then I'd have to get a 4 or 5' antenna to get the same height and I'd lose the large ground plane bonus. Also, I'd have to run the coax outside the cab which is a bigger PITA than just dropping the head liner. I've gotten to be an expert with that after installing those cab lights twice, lol.

    I was thinking of sticking a doubler under it. What do you think? A 6"x6" piece of .032 or .040 aluminum (T6 or so)? This dome mount was made by Firestik for Firestik antennas, but it still looks a little small for the thin Taco sheet metal.
