I think the rules say you have to keep your dog on a leash unless it's hunting season and you're a dog hunter, but yeah, other than that, it doesn't prohibit pets.

Haha, yeah, I know the feeling. The only thing mine loved more than running free was riding in the truck. If he got out without his leash, I'd have to chase him down in the truck.

Anyway, for those that have never been to Richloam, this video is pretty indicative of what to expect, although not all of it is as scary as what they were going through. I'd say most of it is like the stretch they rode along the power lines, but more in the woods...

    Hey guys....

I will be moving to the Tampa area next month and was looking for some info.

First....I will need a good dealership to take my truck to for services, can anyone recommend a solid one?

Second....does anyone know anything about the Apollo Beach area? Is it nice, safe to live, etc...? What about the Parrish area?

Looking to move somewhere between Tampa and Bradenton, so if you have any other suggestions, send them my way.

    Thanks in advance!

If you end up in the Wesley Chapel/New Tampa area, Wesley Chapel Toyota is very good

I'm not very familiar with the Apollo Beach Area. I'm up in the New Tampa Area

hey there, welcome to the sunshine state, up until about 2 months ago, i used to live in ruskin, which is about 6 miles away from apollo beach, between the 2, i'd say it really depends on where you work, both are easily accessible to I75, apollo beach is significantly closer to tampa/more north, i'd say, prob about 25 miles, both are decent areas, but what is around it is more ghetto, like ruskin is pretty ghetto, and palmetto which is closer to parrish is kinda ghetto, i don't think there are many dealers around these parts, i'm not pos but i think the closest dealers are brandon, and bradenton, but honestly, i'd go check out both areas, and also depends on ur living situation, like renting apt or buying a house, personally, i'd recommend apollo beach, but i think closer to work is better

oh and yea apollo beach is pretty safe, if i'm not mistaken it's really just 1 road, apollo beach blvd, that will go out to the water, with some beautiful beautiful houses, and also plenty of regular middle class ones, if you're looking at apollo beach stuff, you might wanta look into riverview too, which is basically across I75

So Ruskin and Parrish areas are ghetto, but Apollo beach is safe?

Would you recommend any other areas in that central location? Just looking for a middle class area to rent a home in that will be nice and safe.

Thanks for the info thus far, very helpful!!

Any idea what area you will be working in? If you're working closer to bradenton, there's a couple nice places in ellenton that just got built up and are pretty cheap still, and are nice.

when i say ghetto, i mean more rundown, i wouldn't really consider any of those areas unsafe, there are a good amount of newer homes in ruskin too, like directly west of us41, but if you go down shell point road, or north of college ave, like i said it's pretty run down imo. you should def map those areas and drive through, it's a really small area. also, palmetto on the US41 side is more run down imo, but parrish on the ellenton side looks pretty decent, but there is nothing out there. if you want to be close to tampa, but want cheaper housing, i'd kinda suggest the riverview area, I don't really know what prices in brandon are like, that could be worth looking into as well.

Alrighty, I'll chime in and say avoid Toyota of Tampa Bay unless you have more money than you can spend and want to throw some away (and if that's the case, throw some my way). I also wasn't especially pleased with the cheese-ball way they did the safeties on my tie-rod ends. Just bent the cotter pin around the nut...didn't even separate the ends. If I did that on an aircraft, I'd have got fired.

As for areas to live in, if you're into the off-road thing at all, then north of Tampa (Lutz, Westley Chapel, Land'o'lakes) would be closer to the good off-road sites while still being reasonably close to the Tampa metro area.

I am starting to book Triple Tail and Cobia charters for the month of October. Anyone in. 4 hour trips run 475 but I will do 400 for 4 hours, 550 for 6 hours, and 725 for a full day of fishing.
