tool chest, vent visors, tuffy bed box, scangauge, Bilstein 5100's, OME 885x springs, Wheeler's HD AAL, LED map, dome, and reverse lights, Bestop Supertop.
I was thinking about it the other day after installing my Tuffy box and I realize I have too many empty cubby holes/storage bins.

What are some things that you all think everyone should keep in their truck? I currently have jumper cables behind the seat, 300 lb ratchet straps and heavy duty bungees under the seats, and my boots, hard hat, vest, spray paint, and flashlight for work kept in a locked tool box that I keep tied down in the bed. I am thinking about picking up a can of WD40 and a pair of mechanics gloves at some point this weekend too.

Just thought it'd be interesting to see what you all think is important!

If you have a wood stove or fire place cary a chainsaw. If you see a fallen tree cut it up and take it home.

At least one rifle, a large frame pistol, a backup pistol and enough ammo to fight a horde of zombies. Oh, and a couple cans of tactical bacon. I also carry a hilift jack, chains, a shovel, a spare serpentine belt, a couple spare u joints, tools, flashlight, climate specific clothes, a -30F rated sleeping bag, 550 cord, tow straps, tree straps, 6 D-ring shackles, A THOROUGH MEDICAL KIT, a small stove and fuel for it, a razor sharp axe and a couple knives, several ways to start fire...the list goes on. I've spent too many nights stuck in the woods to go out there nekkid.

I should probably add that anything that you carry in your truck is useless unless you know how to use it! Might be obvious to some but I can't tell you how many people carry spares and don't know how to change their own tire or have jumper cables but don't know how to use them properly.

When I had my AC I carried all kinds of stuff cause I had no intention of LETTING anyone sit in the back seat. Now I have a child and a DC and have to keep the back seat open to passengers and find that I have less room for stuff like the above. I try to keep the bed as open as possible for large items. I have 2 ammo cans that I need to mount back up the the bed rails, but I am thinking that I need to get two more to mount up as well. I am also thinking of getting a bunch of quick fist mounts to mount stuff like my shovel/axe up to the top of the inside of my cap. Still not sure where to put the jumper cables.

I think some people misunderstood the OP. These are things that you should have in your truck at all times. Not what you should have in your truck when you go out wheeling/camping/whatever. I don't need a -30F sleeping bag to go to the grocery store, but I should have the basic med kit and recovery gear... That being said, some of you may only use your truck on said adventures, but I doubt that's the case with everyone here.

For me, I have the following:
    - Owner's Manual
    - Gerber multi-tool
    - Fiskars hatchet
    - Toilet paper
    - Thorough med kit
    - Water proof matches
    - Hand chain saw
    - Umbrella
    - Tow strap
    - Towel
    - Flash light
    - Pen/paper
    - Whistle
    - Space/solar blankets
    - Sun glasses
    - Duct Tape

Half of that stuff is in there just because I always keep it in there, and NONE of that stuff is visible - it's all in the storage below or behind the back seats or in my glove box. So, it's easy to just keep it all in there. On longer trips I'll pack basic tools and my 12 gauge/ammo.

The stuff that I make sure my wife has in her car are:
    - Owner's manual
    - Pepper spray
    - Whistle
    - Medical kit
    - Jumper cables
    - Solar blankets
    - Gloves
    - Flash light
