Yeah you need to get them turned off asap! Running them at half power will not be good at all. Honestly I'd disconnect the hid's until I got them off. There's a wire that you need to snip under the dash on your year:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/70500-disable-drls.html

Plug one of your factory bulbs up to make sure the drl's are off.

I'm not doubting whether it's real or not.

Just keep being impressed with the ingenuity of members here.

I wouldn't. The drls are lower voltage so the halos wont be lit to their full potential. I wired mine into the corner lights.

New hankook dynapro atm rf10 p255/75/17 with level 8 17" wheels. I'm loving this setup as it is soooo much smoother than the bfg atko that I had on the truck.

aaaaand I cleaned all the truck's glass using "Invisible Glass" (I like it better than Windex) & then applied "Rain-X Original".

    The Product:
    IMG_2522_zps1a76fd65_bde1841768778f9eb94210034a16fa90dda7d572.jpg

The Result (VIDEO) - Click on the image to see the short clip of rain beading-- don't know how to make the video linked on this post:
    th_IMG_2526_zpsc506abaa_d15bc9c43dc0e6742980b1c3359628f391e43482.jpg

I didn't expect it to work that quickly, or be that efficient in beading the rain -- I like!

Hey do you guys know where to get those little piece of film that I see a few guys put on there head lights to make the truck looks a bit cooler? Its almost like little pieces of tint and they do them diagonal across the head light to where the truck looks like its frowning, if that makes sense? I saw another 1st gen taco drive by me today with it and I like the look of it.
