    Question for you wood workers. I m rebuilding one of those iron sided benches with wooden slats. What is a good wood to use if the bench is outside in the weather all year long?

    1st time we had ever done this type of door. Drilling through the steel side flashing plates was a bitz. Underneath these plates was concrete and that had to be drilled as well. Had to cut metal trim plate on top. Had to cut door to install lockset. Lockset was a PITA and had to take it apart and lubricate it after it was installed.

    Needed to make 2 trips to HD today for the project. :anonymous:

    White oak would be perfect. It weathers nicely and should be relatively easy to find/cheap. Make sue it isn't red oak, it will rot, unlike white oak.
