Firestone's instructions suggest that the air hose should come right off. Obviously that's not the case for you. Keep us posted on what you find.

(The Loctite's available on Amazon a bit cheaper than my Napa has it.)

I am currently running Toytec ULK with the aal, and I went with Firestones 2 inch spacer lift (about $65) with Firestone air bags (I paid about $275 on Amazon). So far so good...holding air since the install.

At first I thought I thought the spacer may be a little too big because I thought the AAL was about an inch and a half, but they fit well. I didn't measure bed height prior to the install, right now I am running about 7 pounds and it looks pretty level. I would think if you didn't have the spacers, you would have to run more air in the bags to fill the space and make it level?

I have a 4 leaf pack from the factory, not an add-a-leaf:

do I need a spacer or just go with the regular bag kit?

Just the regular kit. I have 1.5" AAL's and no bag spacers, it does fine. For 2+" of lift, I would want bag spacers to stay level with a load.

Do you have to chop the bump stops, or is there another way of doing it? I'd like to be able to return it to stock configuration if I need to, but i'm really looking at installing some of these.

You *could* loosen the nuts holding the "U" bolts enough to where you could slide the bump stomp plate out and then re-tighten the U-Bolts up. However, toyota spec says to replace them whenever they are untightened.

Honestly, they cost so little, you can often get them for free or $10 later on the forums from people who went to aftermarket leafs, so just cut the dang things with a sawzall which takes about 15 seconds per side and move on. You could always just another set in later with the above method of replacing or just loosening the u-bolts.

I also posted this in the Product Review thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/product-reviews/287206-firestone-ride-rite-air-bags.html,
where apparently several people have gotten the wrong size fittings with their kit:

I just got a call from the mechanic installing my air bags....

"hey John, the fittings on the top of the airbags are the wrong size"

    sonofabitch.

Unfortunately I bought mine off Amazon so I just spent 20 minutes trying to explain the problem to a clueless Indian woman and hope that they send me the right ones.

They are going to send me an entire kit, I told her that there have been several kits that have the wrong parts and told her the date of packing info I got here. I pleaded with her to make sure someone actually checks to make sure the parts are correct before sending it out.

    Wish me luck..

The mechanic is going ahead with the install without the air lines for now, and then will put them on when I get the right parts tomorrow.

    Fuck me.

What are the best (most used) valve install locations? Could you install them in the wheel wells?

IDK if you would want to do that, they need to be somewhere not likely to get debris in them or banged into. I installed mine into either side of the trailer plug on the plate that holds it, was easy to do and has worked great.

That's where my plugs were with my last truck and they worked fine. Actually they were in the bumper near each license plate light. I've seen on Tacomaworld that some have installed them inside the fuel cap door. I didn't want to do that. I put mine in the cubby door inside the bed on the left side. Inside the cubby, I mounted both left and right on the front vertical surface so they would be out of the dirt and mounted them slightly out of line to make it easier to run a hose and fill the inside (left) one.

The only issue I can see with where I've mounted them would be if hauling dirt. If you were not prepared and filled the bed before loading the bags with air, you might have to shovel dirt away from the cubby lid to access the fittings. This isn't an issue for me but it could be for some people.
