They're cheap. I'd rather not pay 900 dollars for spindles. Seems a little pricey to me.

I would do a lot of research before you purchase those they wont work with any after market lower control arms so if you plan on redoing the suspension there is no point in spending money twice just my .02 and they do its sdhqoffroad.com and if you pm them they do give a TW discount

So what spindles would you suggest and what is the difference between them? I have never heard much about changeling lower control arms but I plan on changing the uppers.

Its all about what you plan on doing later. I have seen 2 people now snap lower control arms one of those was using maxtrac spindles but when he wanted to replace them he had to go with stock ones again because of it. The other was a 4wd so he doesnt really count. There are 3 companies that I have researched in this with the help from vince at SDHQ the maxtrac ones which are cast iron and huge, the camburg ones which have 2 versions a non sway bar version and a sway bar version the non sway works with their LT Kits so when i do that thats the route I'm going, and the 3rd is Total Chaos which a non LT version and a LT version the LT version has to go with a LT suspension. And as far as the prices go the maxtrac is like 400 dollars the camburg one is around 900 and the total chaos is around 1300. Now as far as the uppers are concerned the same guy that had the lower snap had light racing uca's but when they wore out he switched to Icons and I just talked to the guy that helped put them on and they had to actually trim the spindle to get it to work. I hope this helps.

Thanks Jamie. I'll definitely do some more research before I commit to anything.

Thanks! I'll be checking out your site soon. I'm looking to put together a spindle lift with a new leaf in the rear. Want a good 4 inches of lift to clear 33s. Was thinking about bilstein coilovers as well.

Because they are affordable, are proven at this point, and provide lift without the preload like your ride.

Oh an the who lower arm thing.... if you are buying lower and uppers and coilovers why not just an LT kit. Most people stay away from replacing their lowers due to cost and no gain performance wise.

Not really sure where you get your information..... perhaps you should just point him to people who actaully run spindles, Maxtrac in specific.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/203889-maxtrac-spindle-lift-2nd-gen-prerunners.html

I never heard of fitment issues with aftermarket UCA and Maxtrac spindles, maybe only Camburg arms becuase of the larger cup for 1.25" uniball. They might contact the top of the spindle are at full droop. Alot of people run Icon and TC with just fine though, I know this for a fact.

LR UCA failure had more to do with misuse and nothing to do with the spindles. These UCAs were not really meant to be pounded on like some folks do. It honestly surprises me we only heard of like one or two failures though. I know guys who beat their trucks to shit and jump them and their LR UCAs hold up fine.
