Ever since I changed out my spark plugs about 5 months ago I've noticed my truck doesn't idle as smooth. The old (stock) denso double electrode were way overdue so when I replaced them I put in NGK platinum single electrode. My thinking was that there wouldn't be any difference. I'm still not sure if the spark plug is my issue anyway.

Just thought I'd ask if anyone else has changed out the double electrode denso for single electrodes and noticed a negative difference? I've seafoamed twice in the past 6 months. Once before I changed the spark plugs, and once 3 months after thinking maybe the intake was dirty again.

Anyone think our trucks must have the double electrodes? Or are the singles ok?

There is a sticker in the engine bay that specifically says to use double electrode plugs only. I'm assuming it's there for a reason. I don't know the mechanics behind it, but I put duals in when I changed mine and it was fine.

One shade darker, I can understand for aesthetics. But yours are way too dark in my opinion in both looks and safety.

I never got the whole tinting of the brake lights. I've had several close calls driving to work in the morning because somebody doesn't understand safety features.

I don't know the physics/mechanics behind it, but you should definitely put in dual electrodes.

There are many threads here where people are complaining about idles, stutters, not running well, etc... and it turns out to be single electrode spark plugs.

If my camera (phone) was readily available I wanted to take a picture (at a red light) of a woman who placed an "Obama/Biden" sticker over her third brake light. On a Honda Civic or something.

Of all the places to put a bumper sticker. Really?

Yeah my favorite ones are the straight krylon gloss black "tint jobs"

I've also had some close calls because of a lack of tail lights, all in the name of looking cool I guess

Today dropped off the Taco at the doctor's (4Wheel Parts)...she's getting new front shocks (Rancho)...that makes it Team Rancho , all 4 corners..They're also gonna look into the Diff Lock, it just blinks, probably hasn't ever been engaged, prior to me owning it..After this, real trail miles to follow..

Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now

The reason for the dual electrodes is Toyota's hemispherical (hemi) head designed combustion chamber, the spark plugs thread straight over the top of piston as opposed to most engines that are "angled" plug design, the spark isn't vertical from electrode to firing tip, spark is thrown across (horizontally) ARCing between 2 electrodes for a bigger/slightly longer spark for better fuel combustion on compression stroke, so I think I'd use the dual denso's...;)

Knock it off with the pet names, homos. Not that that's a bad thing. The homo part I mean. If you're into it. That's fine.

Replaced my newish single electrode NGK spark plugs with dual electrode NGK plugs. Started it up after but haven't taken it for a drive yet. Hopefully this cures my bad idle

Also, I bought this Redline additive that goes into the radiator. It's supposed to make engines run cooler, typically around 10 degrees cooler. Since I've been running around 204-210 degree range I figured I'd give the redline additive a try. Also gonna do the jiggle valve mod at the same time. Anyone used the redline antifreeze additive before? Did It work or help?
