So if he already has fog lights why would he buy aftermarket ones?

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
When something breaks in VSC system then whole thing goes to safe mode. (Actuall off). When you are pressing button to turn it off, it goes to Off standby mode ( like a TV turned off with remote).
In standby mode VSC is like fat chick in front of cheesecake store. Lurkin waiting to jump on the action. It gives you more room, but when it thinks you are not paying attention it will strike back.
This is not something Toyota did just because, it is the law that all car manufacturers have to now implement.
Anybody who does the mod to disable ABS/VSC sends system in to safe mode (Actually off), when you press the button you only get more room, but if you go over thresholds programmed system kicks back in. So what OZ wrote is 100% correct and true.
So to have VSC completely off you need to do the mod, or buy truck with out it.

Ok back to the VSC being off or lurking when you "apparently" hold the button down for 5 seconds. I believe the finding from Toyota on here was that it is OFF and OZ-T mentioned that its not off but that the sensitivity is reduced or its just lurking in the backround. Well Toyota tech didn't know shit and OZ-T is correct because I drove mine all weekend "apparently" turning it off but it would engage turning right at 40 mph over a mountain I drove back and forth over 4 times.
In town its really not a problem its just in the mountains or hills. Is the following solution my best bet to solve this in the mountains? I can do this as needed while in the mountains and in town I can leave it on.

Yes Icons and Dakars. Zero point is on the VSC correct? I was also told to have the Yaw reset. Does that make sense?

My 2009 will reengage if you get crazy. Like fishtailing in the snow. I did the abs disable mod which shuts off all the nannies so I can have alittle fun when I want.

Alright, so it snowed here. I held the button down for 5 seconds and I did donuts galore.

No clicking, no nothing, truck was open rear differential in 2WD. No VSC, no nanny, no nothing, just a plain old truck with an open rear differential.

If the VSC button is held down for 5 seconds, VSC is OFF. No question about it. There is no lurking. There is no background VSC waiting to kick in.

WHEN THE VSC OFF BUTTON IS HELD DOWN, VSC IS OFF.

Commander, you have to give details so we don't go around in circles. Did you have the VSC button down for 5 seconds?

And honestly, even if the VSC kicks back in at some point in wildly extreme conditions, how is that a problem?

Who does donuts in 4WD on ice except to play around? If you did that on a road it would be nice to have some VSC, right? Might keep you out of a ditch.
