    -maxtrac 4 inch spindles

t this point I see a few options without a new pack. Longer shackles or a block under the pack. Possibly another leaf but it would probably have to be custom made at this point

Toss a block under there and call it done. Adding anymore to the pack will just make the rear ride horrible. Doing a 1" or 1.5" block won't really hurt that beefy pack with the OME AAL already in. Shoot the pack would be fine without the AAL, those Dakars have plenty of support with the 2 overloads at the bottom.

As mentioned by someone else shackles is another option but will just require more work and $$$. Though a good, I'd be concerned with dropping the shackle side down without doing the same with the non shackle side. This can influence the way the pack responds and can really throw your angle off. Just speaking from experience!

Regardless with what you do you could benefit with use of longer shocks, the extended Bilstiens provide about 1.5" over the OME shocks.

Other things to consider are extended brake lines and longer ubolts if you do the blocks.

    ugh, blocks.

What's your budget? Alcan Spring can make you up to 6" of lift, I think.

Small block in rear but in front would install ome 885's instead of adjusting the 5100's at 2.5.

I get it, everyone wants to bash blocks, but honesty a 1"-1.5" block is not a big deal at all especially if you already have a well-built pack like the Dakars.

To me it would be a total waste of money to buy a new pack when the one he has is probably in great shape. I think people just go way overboard with the block and spacer bashing when in some cases its honestly the most practical way to go based of use and expectation of ride.

In his case I'd do a small block and call it done and ignore the peeps bashing them who often own high $$$ suspension yet never use it.

if money wasnt an issue, believe me i would go for the alcan:rolleyes:. i was considering a one inch block, nothing too crazy. that opens up other issues. i feel like im already maxing out my n182s not to mention my ubolts have very little thread left under my dakars. what is a good shock for a 5-6 inch rear?

The best way to figure out which shocks to use would be to get your setup completed with the blocks, and take compressed measurements and extended measurements. Take those measurements to a place like Downsouth Motorsports and they will give you some options to maximize suspension travel. You will need extended brake lines and very possibly taller bump stops to prevent the shock from bottoming out before the bumps hit the frame.
