Technically ESC is correct too , Toyota just calls their ESC system VSC

Driving the truck after that happens won't harm anything , what is happening is that the truck thinks that you are going into a tail slide condition and is applying brake to the appropriate tire to keep the rear end from coming around , this can be quite startling when it happens in a corner because it tends to understeer the truck and push you straight on rather than allowing you to turn properly

Larger tires and / or a lift increase the likelihood of this happening

You need to get the VSC system recalibrated , the pdf file in the first post of this thread shows the procedure

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/41215-lift-vsc-answer.html

As a temporary measure , you can also push and hold the VSC button while you are stopped for 5 seconds until the only light remaining is VSC OFF , this will turn the system " off " , be aware that the system resets if you turn off the truck or push the VSC button again , so would need to do this each time you started your truck

Generally no , just changing tires should not be a problem , usually it occurs when you lift a truck , but some people have experienced this problem by just putting larger or heavier tires on , it happened to me .

I put a leveling lift kit with bilstein 5100 at 2.5" with pro comp 285/70/R17 tires, wheels stock was 265/65/R17. I was agree with that, but happened that issue twice and I was sorry to have done that.

Get the VSC recalibrated with that pdf file I linked for you and you should be good

Assuming you got an alignment after your lift too

My truck has LT285/70/R17, I believe I'm wrong to be chosen these tires, are too big for my bilstein 5100 at 2.5"
