Ok people, i'm finally ditching my Tundra for a Tacoma (I know don't ask...) I'm looking for an aggressive look so i'm concerned about all the chrome on the Limited. OR should I buy the Sport? If I get one, here's what i'm planning to add.

    TRD Sport hood w/scoop
    TRD exhaust
    Black rims - XD Misfits
    ? N-fab nerf bars
    ? Bushwacker Flares
? Westin Ultimate black Bull bar

Give me your thoughts. Tell me if you would get it in Super White or Magnetic Grey. Thanks!

From what I've seen, there isn't very many people here who own the "Limited" package. Most of us have "Sports" or "Off Road" versions. We just find that the "Limited" package has a lot of chrome and that's pretty much it.
Some members don't like the bull bars because they can do a lot more damage then good when it comes to your vehicle. Some people have tried to tow other vehicles with them. Others have had more damaged to their Tacoma because of the Bull Bar being pushed into the plastic bumper.
If I were you, personally I'd get the Sport. There isn't much of a difference in the Limited compared to the Sport(that I know of). In the end, it's you're truck. A lot of members have their own builds with their own ideas and what mods they added and such. Check them out. We'd want you to go on your own preferences then our own.

Also. Welcome to TW. There is loads of information. Lots of knowledgeable people. Take a seat, look around and enjoy yourself. :)

Tacoma chrome sucks. I had a 2010 AC SR5. The rear bumper had a haze of rust on the ends during the first year. It seems to be not "real" chrome. I can't really put my finger on just what it is. I recently decided I wanted a DC, so I shopped for a month. I passed on the Limited and got the Sport. Love the color matching bumpers (not so much the scoop).

Also, what did they do, play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" when they were looking for where to put the "Limited" badge? LOL

I had the N-Fab side steps on my first Taco, and have them again on this one. I just like the look. I also have another Avid front bumper guard (can't quite call it a light bar since I don't have any lights mounted to it.)

OK, one more edit and I'm done: Get the grey, my new Taco is!

If you don't like the chrome, don't get the limited. The only other thing it has is the fake leather. If you want aggressive looking, the sport is the way to go. Color keyed everything and it already has the skewp and turn signal mirrors. Limiteds don't.
And I'm a big fan of mag gray :D

TRD off road.... you get the rear locker... nuff said... had mine for a month and already used the locker twice... to make a painless full flex crossing of a ditch.... without the locker there woulda been alotta wheel spin and non needed throttle even in 4x4.

Then do a hood swap with someone if you REALLY want the skewp.... and then grab the color matched bumper and grill... personally i like the chrome with the silver streak.

Should've hit the A-TRAC button :D I have never needed to lock the diff with A-TRAC on.
But yeah OP, if you plan on wheeling it, either the off road, or sport with aftermarket locker/s.
I really want the turn signal mirrors on my OR.

Why not get the best of both worlds.

They do make a TRD Sport upgrade package which includes leather.

Leather and the stereo are the only good things about the Limited anyway.

Assuming the OP is in the U.S., that package is not available. It is only for Canadian vehicles (for some insanely idiotic corporate bullshit reason!)

You also have to consider how much off roading that you do. If you don't really do any then the Sport would be a better trim for you then the Off Road version. Some people here say that it's not worth it to spend the extra money for the Off Road version.

in canada, have a 2014 Limited. Wheels are nice, as well as the JBL stereo.

If you want aggressive look, stick to TRD with the hood scoop and save $4000 IMO.

I know I am new here so don't blast me! I have TRD off road package in Magnetic Grey. Had the choice to get the sport, but did not. Not a fan of fake hood scoops, mostly not on a truck! I really did not want to buy a new set of tires for a brand new truck either. Sport model has a pitiful set of highway tires on it. My TRD off road came with 265 70 16 BFG Rugged Terrain tires. Although they are not the typical BFG AT tread, they have some off road abilities unlike the HWY tread only on the sport. Gotta love the locking rear axle too.

    Good choice!
I never really had a problem with the stock "rugged fails" that came on my truck, but I never really pushed them either. They were fine in soft beach sand and in the dirt. Never really tried them in deep mud. Did yours come stock with rugged terrain tires? I heard they are much better than the rugged fails.

    Things I need to tow.
I have a '14 Limited DCLB and love it. In the US, this is the only package Toyota offers with heated seats and non-cloth interior. It comes with all the up-level infotainment stuff if that is your thing. I don't mind the chrome and it will no doubt last as long as I do. I added the front skid plate from Toyota's accessory bin and a set of Bilstein shocks from the TRD. I don't care for the standard tire, but that's negotiable too. It tows my trailer and will do anything I ask of it.

It doesn't matter to me, but Limited's are very rare. When looking for mine, no dealer within 200 miles ever ordered one. I checked Toyota's Inventory web site for months and found only a very few in the nearest large metropolitan area (Seattle, WA). On the upside, after languishing on the dealer's lot for three months, I got what I felt was a great deal and I'm satisfied. Your method may vary. - MarkC

This is all a matter of preference.

Don't get swayed by what other people tell you to get especailly on a site that is mostly non chrome fans off roading fans....
You should go look at both in person and decide based on your plans and use for the truck.

I have a 2013 Limited in Silver Double cab that I picked up 2 months ago.
I got it from the dealer with 100 miles on it in Newburgh, NY and I think its pretty awesome. keep in mind I do not off road like most guys on here. I love what they do and enjoying reading about them, its just not what I do with my truck.

I decided on the limited because I really wanted heated seats leather and a more classy look to my truck.

I also added the chrome Toyota steps, rubber bed mat, extended 100k warranty along with tire and wheel protection.

The things I do not like about my truck are as follows:

I think toyota "cheaped out" on the quality of leather - they could have stepped it up, but the leather option was better for me since I have a 2 year old son who spills things in the car, so leather was a must.

Pissed I didn't look closer at the wheels - plastic chrome covers - another short cut they took im not happy about, but from 5' away you have no idea... its only if you look very closely

I am unhappy with the gas mileage - I was hoping for better economy on a toyota truck, but again, I should have done more research and decided how important gas mileage was to me. My friend just got a F-150 FX4 - V6 twin turbo eco boost getting 21 MPG.... I feel like Toyota could work on the gas consumption especially now that full sized trucks are getting this type of MPG.....

I hope this helps you.... I will post a picture of my truck so you can see what I have.... Good Luck
