First drive on my new tires 255/85r16 BFG MT KM2's. I've ran a lot of mud's but none as quiet and smooth feeling as the KM2's. I'm running a 6 speed so with the taller tires giving me more gear, I feel like now I have the correct gearing. I would recommend this size to all the 6 speed drivers out there that feel there truck is geared to low.

Always hot AUX plug. Wet Okole's. 33" tires.
I have always "tested" my vehicles in every new road condition. Have to know how they handle. ;) I was worried about my km2's from all I had heard about them. The first time I went out in the snow, it had rained, then temps dropped to below zero (Fahrenheit), then it snowed like crazy. I took my wife to work, and couldn't believe how bad my tires were. Then I realized i was almost the only one on the road, who wasn't in an accident, or an emergency vehicle. Then I realized my tires were GREAT, and the roads were just that bad. LOVE THESE TIRES!!!

    TW…!!

Wanted to get a bit of impute from you guys. I have a set of 255/85 R16 KM2’s. I haven’t mounted them yet, but was thinking of changing to a set of Cooper ST’s in the same size 255/85 R16. Honestly, I live in Miami, FL and do 90% of driving on highways/city roads. I’ve had M/T’s before, it’s been quite some time that I’ve had a set. My to previous rig’s (Discovery II & LC FZJ-80) both had BF A/T’s KO. What do you think, should I keep the KM’s or swap out to the Coopers. Can the oweners of both chim in, pros and cons would be much appreciated.

If 90% of your driving is on a road, then go with the Coopers, imo. The KM2s may cost more gas, more weight, and offer a slew of things you won't need for on-road driving. Buy the Coopers and post pics installed!

    Good points of view,

most of my off-road driving is mild. Ilike the functionality of the truck. I’m not into mud bogging shooting beer andpulling cable every 5 minutes.

I use my truck for work, so I’m in and out ofjobsites looking at heavy machinery as well as picking up parts.

Since weget gobs of rain during the summer months driving into a cement mill can benasty if you aren’t careful. This was one of the reasons I went with the KM2 althoughmy T/A’s were phenomenal.

Man, not sure what to do, my wife would kill me if I spendanother $900.00 or so on D.D. tires, she'll say “ohh no honey, you used the tires youbought. We don’t need new tires just to go off-roading.”

LOL…!!! She’s not much of a 4x4 type of gal.

    heheh
Cooper Maxx ST's are set to be released in 255.... today or so.... so you may want to look into those. They may have more on-road manners while still being aggressive. If I stayed only on-road there's no way I would have KM2s. I don't find these good on wet roads, but off-roading I don't have a single worry at all with them.

Good luck with your decision! Take your wife off-roading and she may fall for it. ;)

Well it was end of December/early January.

    And before that fourth quarter.

And before that later this year.

    And before that early fall.

Sooo, who the hell knows. :tumbleweed:

Edit: Haha, even better, yet another pushed back response.

How freaking hard is it for them to figure out. Jeez. I can't wait past early February. I've been driving on worn out KM1's since summer and have a trip planned in February that could see snow.

Just got a set of KM2 in 255/85/16 after my lift. Truck is a 2006 access cab with a OME 886 + top plate spacer up front and 2" AAL in the back, stock TRD Off Road wheels, stock UCA and removed sway bar and mudflaps. Fit is good however they do rub the frame at full lock even with the lift. A very small amount but noisy and noticeable when maneuvering in a small parking lot. Need a small spacer or wheels with less backspacing.

I'm looking for alternatives. I want an all terrain. I don't want the current model Cooper ST. I might go with a different size. Going with a different size will open up my options to many other brands. Too bad because I really like this size. I feel like my truck did great on the 255's I have.
