I would do the OME lift. You dont need a diff drop. Get the dakar leaf pack if you can afford it. DONT do blocks. Second choice would be the bilsteins. You should consider new Upper Control arms as well. It made mine ride soo much better.

If you can't afford Dakars do the Chevy leaf swap/add. OME!

X2 on these, I personally like my 5100's up front but I'm wanting to upgrade my coil springs, also, happy with the height of the block in the rear BUT THATS IT! I got the block for free so I used it for now but plan on gettin either the allpro leaf pack or doin the Chevy swap eventually. DONT DO BLOCKS, that all I can really stress.. Sense you're buying it all new, get the ALL or whole leaf pack for the rear end.

So if I did the OME lift why wouldn't I need the diff drop? Also would I want the front top plate spacers?

It has been proven that the diff drop does little to nothing for the second gen tacomas. Do a search on here if you would like to see some of the results. The top plate spacers add a little more lift. What model tacoma do you have? Double cab shortbed/long bed, ext cab, engine size etc? That will determine what springs you want to order and if the spacers will be needed for a full 3 inch lift.

I have a 2006 trd off road sr5 doublecab shortbed 4x4 4.0L v6. I like the look of your truck but I also like the tacomas with 3 inch lift on 285/70/16 tires.

With your truck I would think the 885 coils with no spacer would get you 3 inches of lift in the front.

I like the look of the 285s as well but didnt want to spend the money or do the work required for them to be right. To avoid rubbing you would need aftermarket wheels or spacers and would still need a cab mount chop from what I have seen. I have also heard you take a real hit in MPG with the 285s.

With 255s I had to do no trimming. I am using my factory off road rims. I still get 19-20 mpg and I really am not ready to cut the cab mounts on my still fairly new truck. I even left the front mud flaps on just because I am lazy and dont want to clean the side of my truck every 3 days:p Most of my off roading is on rocky surfaces where the 255s excel. 285s are better for mud/sand.

Get The spacers, they'll make fitting 33's a bit easier especially for flexing. I am running stock wheels with 285's but I have spacers as well. I did the cab mount and trimmed some fender and bumper.

David, I agree with Wildcat. I did the 285 OME coils up front with a spacer and an AAL in the rear (went the cheap way). Here is the link from Toytec:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/BEST-SELLER-3-Lift-With-front-coils-rear-options_p_233.html

I'm running 285/70/17's on 17x9 wheels I think. I did have to do some trimming on the front fender where the mud flap use to be. And I do get occasional rubbing on the body mount, but only when backing up. I was recently quoted about $200 by a body shop to get the body mount chop done.

Tako is right about the MPG. According to my Ultraguage i'm getting 15.1 MPG City. But the look outways the MPG for me. I also went with the diff drop kit only to be safe and it wasn't a lot of money.

I don't have spacers up front on mine, I wish I did, they would give me some more clearance on the fender. I have all pro expos right now but I'm swapping them out next week. $200 for cab mount is insane.

I actually used my stock TRD shocks for the front and back. I did install a shock extender for the rears. I'm thinking about upgrading now though to the 5100's, but i don't know if I would gain anything.

I'm running the Nitto Trail Grapplers 285/70/17's and are 32.71 x 11.22 where yours should be 31.71 x 11.22. I had to go with the 17's to clear the rotors on the Sport.

Buy fronts and rears. Lately people have been having problems with 5100's so I'd advise getting OME. For a 16 inch wheel the size is 285/75/16, for 17 it is 285/70/17 so that's why it's showing that it's not a 33. Order from discounttiredirect. They have the best prices I've seen and free shipping

Edit: ckeene9 is selling his OME rears since he upgraded. Hit him up for them then you'd only need the fronts

So with the OME kit I'm looking at I should be able to still use my 16 inch stock rims? I really like my rims and don't have the money to buy new rims too.
