What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

OK I have to ask why? I just drilled a hole and cut some notches

 

01-04 corner lights aren't large enough to fit the bulb in, so you have to use the mount from the turn signal so the bulb has enough room to fit.

 

Pins will be a PITA to get out though.

The pins are actually a piece of cake to get out

There is a white clip on the other side that you pry out, with a little flathead screw driver, then on the bottom of each pin there is a tiny little clip that you gently pry back and pull the wire out

I might even do a little video for you if you cannot handle it

 

Does anyone know where to get the pins and the little boots?

The size bulb you used is the same size as our blinker bulbs, which doesn't fit unless it's spaced back some like what my mod does. So you would need to get a bulb smaller than 1157 type to make it work.

Plus my way is reversible and doesn't cut into any of the oem wiring.

When I did mine same thing happened. I used a razor to peel the wire housing off. Then I just soldered the tips together. ha ha. Rather the tip to the factory wire.

 

It might be the "new math" they taught us in school waaaaaaaaay back when... But I came up with approximately 1/4 the capacity you got.

r^2=1
h=35

3.14159265 x 1 x 1 x 35= 109.995 c.i. Call it 110 x .004329 = .476 gal. So a little less than 1/2 a gallon capacity.

radius is 1/2 the diameter so 1/2 of 2 is 1. r^2 is 1 x 1 which is 1.

 

It's all in the bulb socket haha only maybe .5" of the bulb sticks into the corner housing. It's smaller then the little led I used to have

 

If only about half of an inch actually is in the housing, then I'd rather have the way I did it...

 

Just can't win with you... Haha not gonna lie these are 1000x brighter then my $27 LEDs I used to have in there

 

Haha I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just saying that if it works on your lenses then great. But it doesn't mean it will work on other lenses unless somebody else tries it.
