as long as they are SAE/DOT approved, then thats all that matters.

i would hope so. to get the complete benefit of real HID kits, u need a projector headlight, IIRC.

Bout HID conversions. I found a site called Mod-Express. I got a kit for 240ish. I bought some H1 kit for my old civic. They look sweet. I think H4 is the taco stock bulbs. Im not sure if they fit right into the housing or if you have to mod the socket some.

the housing kit that i bought (dual halo projector headlights) say not to use HID bulbs. they don't say why not to. my thoughts are that:
    1) the bulb will get to hot and could burn or melt the hoousing (don't know that much about HID bulbs so i could be worng)
    or
    2) they bulbs would be to bright and possible illegal so they don't want you to install them.

    any ideas? ot thought?

Typically HID bulbs run much cooler than regular halogen. Usually, anything that is aftermarket that is not DOT approved is ILLEGAL. Cops usually know what cars came with HID stock. As long as you have them aimed correctly and they are not in peoples eyes, you should be fine. Fix it tickets arent too pricey either if you by chance happen to get pull over for your lights. I had em in my last car and no problem. If the manufacturer suggests that you dont install HID, give em a call, see what they reason is. It wont hurt to ask.
