I think the OP wanted to be able to use Thule attachments/bars. That is a heck of a rack though.

That is a heck of a rack. I wish that those side rails were more "bar-ish" then plates... I would see about ordering a set for my Thule set up...

Nice thought, but no way are these flexing enough to confrom to the roofline. I have these in my bed (see my mod thread) and they are very stiff (they're extruded aluminum).

You will have to drill the landing pads into the roof like this: (same concept if you go with the 48" tracks). If can find a landing pad that has a very wide base, you might be able to mount in into the rain channels into the factory predrilled holes. The Tacoma ones are not wide enough to fit .

Yes jcayce, I think he wants side rails to mount his Thule crossbars he has already. That's what I got out of his post. I got up there today and rocked the shit out of them again. They're not going anywhere. Had the truck swaying like a MFer.

Is there some way to bend the radius into them? Something like a pipe bender but for beams of straight metal? Would a metal fabrication shop have the ability to do something like that with aluminum or would the aluminum be compromised at that point?

Thanks -- These are some good ideas. I'm looking into mounting these tracks on the OEM anchors then adapting the Highlander rail to the track. Stay tuned...

I, too, am looking for a way to mount adjustable tracks to the existing ditch on my DCLB. My '99 Explorer had them & it was awesome. Still have the Yakima Landing pads, control towers, & 54" poles so really am determined to make this work.
After absorbing a lot of the data from previous posts these tracks seem to fit the bill. Comes in a curved version in a wide variety of lengths, 1 1/4" wide so it should fit into the ditch & hug the roofline contour.

This does look like the answer. I'll look into them. Thanks again.

I think a sheet metal/fabrication shop could gradually roll those rails to be a pretty good fit. You might want to make a template of the curve, to speed up the process and prevent a lot of running back & forth at high $. Cardboard from a refrigerator box would be good, plywood or celotex would also work well.

Mine's an Access Cab, but I've got to do something to get my canoe to clear the cab. :D

    JCayce,

How'd it go with the proline racks? Any luck?

Total chaos UCAs, 265/75-16s, BAK rollback tonneau, custom lights and rack.
Get the side rails off of zscott and them make your own mounts for crossbars. This rack is extremely beefy but really low profile.
