Just bought my first Tacoma a few weeks ago, a used '05 double cab prerunner SR5 TRD. There are a few aftermarket items on the truck that I am not familiar with. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what they are.

this is the one I am really struggling with, I dont even know where to start looking.

This i think is a gasaver, I just need to know the best way to get rid of it.

This a random button, and I have no idea what it could be for. Any idea of how to find out?

Top thing looks like part of an alarm. I would remove all of it.

    The gasaver is junk...
    http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2012/01/gas-saving-devices-tested/index.htm

The box wired to the intake is most likely a "gas saving" device as well...my speculation is that it is modifying the signal from the MAF in an attempt to fool the computer into thinking there is different conditions than actual.

No advice on the button, perhaps turns the MAF box on and off?

The top thing is one of those snake oil fake "chips" that tricks the IAT into changing the intake temperature readings in order to "gain HP". Absolute garbage. Remove and burn at your earliest convenience.

If the second thing is indeed an oil catch can, one of the tubes will be connected to the PCV fitting on the driver side, cab side of the valve cover.

    EDIT:
Even more evidence to support the theory that the previous owner of your truck was a complete moron. I'd start looking for other "modifications" he/she may have made or possibly maintenance that was done incorrectly or not at all.

i mean, would it be beneficial to just get rid of them all? I already planned to get rid of the gas saver, I just don't know if i need to find a straight connector for the fuel line, or replace the fuel line.

Can I just cut the wires going from the box into the mass air sensor, or do I need to do a bit more

i don't know a lot about engines, but I know its the fuel line and not oil, I know it is a scam device called a gasaver, and not an oil catch can
