so i went to order tires and now they tell me they can't ship to APO AE when I clearly asked them last week if they could and they said yes. Tirebuyer.com can suck a fat one until I get back stateside. anybody know of any other websites I can try? tried tirerack they want $300 for shipping, discount tires wants $220 for shipping. Still searching around and shooting out emails and making phone calls to different places.

went on discounttiredirect.com a couple weeks ago I asked them if they could give me a lower price then what the total was and he said he could do $75 off. I just went back on the website and notice they price match tires. They sell the general grabber at2 at $194 a tire and tirerack has them for $166 a tire so if they can price match tirerack then I'll get them for $873 shipped and if they happen to do both price match and take that $75 off (which i doubt that will happen) I'm looking at $798 shipped which is do able.

EDIT: Also, got a SHIT TON done on my truck between last night and today. Fenders are now fully adjusted and fit correctly, bumper has new bolts that can actually be tightened, fogs have been installed in the bumper, CB antenna mount made up and installed (coax and other parts on order), rear fender flares removed (not sure if I like this yet but I'm gonna clean it up and ride with it for a bit to see)... and last but not least, local sticker and TW sticker finally installed!! :woot:

Yeah I was excited for them to come out and I liked them a lot but the more I look at them the less appealing they are to me. Idk why though. I think in my head I have myself convinced that those would look good in 17" but for 16" I wouldn't like them.

Eagle: not to sway you one way or the other but they're available in 17". I love em personally and I hope than in a year or so I can afford a set to run as my street wheels.

VaYoder: it looks awesome! I'll throw a pic up in here and I'll be updating my build page probably tomorrow night but of course we can all look around tonight instead of just seein pics.

yeah I was strongly considering them in 17" but that means more $ both for them and tires. as it stands right now I'm looking at $893 for the grabbers shipped here to Germany then $671 (he gave me a 5% discount) for the F-5s and black lug nuts to ship here. discounttiredirect.com rep emailed me yesterday to call them but the house phone is broke (wife dropped it in the sink washing dishes) and I have no way to call the states at the moment. said in the e-mail they want my business and want to negotiate a price so hopefully $893 isn't the final price.

also if I went 17" I'd have to find another tire to run because generals don't come in 285/75R16. and discounttiredirect.com doesn't really have much in that size that won't kill my wallet except the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS II and the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2, I don't know anything about either of them.

Edit: BS Dueler A/Ts are SL so that's a no go right off the bat.

whenever you're ready to work out the details and price of this let me know, wife said I'm allowed to buy one truck related item per paycheck :D. went on a bit of a spending spree and she put her foot down a little. told her wheels and tires would be last major purchase until we get back to the states. then the fun begins!

if you guys know of any cheap mods to do let me know.

right now I'm waiting on my redline hood struts, pop & lock, weathertechs, and a custom black ebony wooden pistol grip shift knob to come in.

Ya I gotchu on the tire size. I've been considering finding a set of 16" tacoma steelies to run as my set of off-road wheels. Gets me both a cheaper tire as well as more rubber between wheel and ground.

Looks like I can do it for $65 plus shipping. Includes saddle ties, zipties, soldered wires, and LED's. The only thing I haven't found is an easy way of attaching the saddle ties to the truck that doesn't take a few days to cure. I've been using 3m 5100 marine adhesive but it takes several days to fully cure.

I can park the truck and walk to work if need be, I live two streets over from the building I work in, (I should probably do that now, but it's to cold and I walked for a year before getting the truck here) and if I have to wait for it to warm up to put them on then I won't mind walking at all. I'm guessing I can run the wires in to the cab through the same spot I ran the cb wires out of to get it to the ottraw switch and however it hooks up to come on when I unlock the truck or open the doors.

That's the same spot I ran the wires. I drove the truck while it was curing (let it set for about 12hrs beforehand), just can't hang the lights and wires.

Ok guys, so tonight's "meet" was pretty much a bust... What's the chance we can get interest for a meet in about 2 weeks?

Ok, just moved into a new house so I need to unpack everything and set up a bench. How big of a hurry are you in for this? And do you need me to ship some sort of adhesive over or can you find something decent at the PX?
