AWESOME THREAD!!! Ive read 12 or so pages but I still don't really have my question answered and I want to know it from the best so here it is..

Goal: best ride quality and 3 inch (or close to it +/-) lift
Original Idea: 881s with bilstein 5100 set to 1.25 for total of 3" and skyjacker Softride 3.5" spring pack in the back.

My concerns after reading is that the 881s would be smoother with the nitrochargers but then how do I get the 3" up front??

I don't haul anything other than my 250 pound dirt bike on occasion I just want good ride quality on and off road as I do about an even amount of both. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Do 882 with dakars and the add a leaf. Skyjackers are junk..

My dakars ride so nice. If your really concerned about the 3 inch height just go with a coil over. You can adjust it to your likening!!

I went with the saw 2.0 up front love them!!

    Icons are nice too :)

IF you went with OME coils and 5100s, don't set the 5100s for any lift. Not safe and it will ride like shit.

If you want 3", eibachs and 5100s would be a better option. It will be a stiff ride though.

The Dakar leaf springs ride awesome IMO. But if you really want 3" up front and a good ride, coil overs are the way to go honestly. 882s with a top plate spacer may get you close as well, but coil overs will ride a lot smoother.

If you want the full 3" of lift go with 882's and the 10mm top plate spacers and the longer bolts to mount on the Nitrochargers. Aftermarket springs on the Billy's need to
be run at the lowest setting or "0" if i remember correctly.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
882 coils on ome sport shocks netted me in the neighborhood of 3". I didn't measure but.... It's plenty to clear 33's. Dakar leaf pack is great too, but needed longer shackles to avoid bro lean. Check out wheelers offroad, they have pretty good pricing :)

Unless you're running some serious weight up front, I wouldn't recommend running 882s and a top plate spacer. Even with a 3/16" plate bumper and IFS skid, I ran into geometry problems that I had to correct with aftermarket UCAs. I'd try the 882s first then add the top plate spacer after you find out you have height to rise.

Maybe I'm lucky, but no problems here with geometry. Cv's are a bit steep but... I'm assuming you don't care since you want a full 3" lift. I did have to address a vibration in front diff, but my guess is that mine would have had that problem either way.

On this point of weight up front, it was a factor for me, since I planned from the beginning on adding weight within a year... 3/16 ryno Ifs skid and bamf sliders on the way as we speak.

OK great information... So the only real reason I wanted 3" up front was because I was planning on running skyjacker Softride leaf pack whick is 3.5" supposedly..

So I guess if im not running the skyjacker and I go with the OME leaf pack then I don't necessarily need 3" up front.. my main concern is with ride quality I just thought 3" would look better than 2.

I don't really want to spend over 1000 on this but if have to go 11 or 1200 then ill do if for the quality ride

You can always go with an aal (if your springs look ok) for now. If the ride is unbearable you can always pick up a set of springs down the road. That's what I prob would have done if my springs weren't flat, and/or I didn't have the budget at the time.

my truck is a 98 v6 4x4 with the full OME kit, the front end has the OME shocks and 881 springs as well as the ARB plate bumper (no winch on mine) (all installed by the previous owner)

with lots of miles/years on this setup now, can anyone confirm if the extra weight from the front bumper could be causing the shocks to clunk/pop from within? there are no leaks anywhere and the ride quality feels good, the clunk/pop noise i have is especially noticeable in cold weather going over bumps at low speeds, wondering if it could be the valving in the shock itself that is worn out from the heavier front bumper?

i read ~25 pages of this thread already and have seen some recommendations that either 882s or 883s would be necessary with the ARB plate bumper, and others have said 881s will be fine. if anybody has overloaded their 881s with adding gear to the front and experienced this and can confirm would be greatly appreciated

So I have a 97 Tacoma extra cab 4x4 I read somewhere that the OME daker leaf pack will not go on my truck without modifying something.... is this true??

Also if I get the Full OME suspension pack and want an extra inch of lift what are my options other than AAL cuz I don't want to give up my nice ride and AAL will make it more stiff.

Not sure about the fitment on your truck, but you can add lift using longer shackles. Toytec makes one that worked well for my needs, adjustable for 1, 1.5, or 2" additional lift :)

No more saggy but with 1.5" shackle position

Oh, and this is the shackle, thing the spring attaches to. You can see the hole below if you were to set at the 1" setting:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1392421449.446776.jpg

Which bushings did you use to get them to work with the dakars?

Oh awesome! Thanks JohnboyTRD!! So I did find out that OME Dakar leafs wont go in my 97 Tacoma so wheelers kit sells their 5 leaf pack with the OME kit but it only provides 1.5 inches of lift in the back.. Since I have no extra weight up front how much lift is the OME 881s and nitrochargers going to give me with no lift enhancer?? I would think with the 5 leaf pack my rear end would sag and I want at least 2 to 2.5 of lift.. Any suggestions or ideas??
