    Hey All,

It has been sold! Thanks so much for your interest and the quick PM's (and sale). My sincere apologies if I disapointed anyone; it was hard to keep up with the PM's

    Thanks again,

    Hunter

I had a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH installed in its place. I guess I didn't see the point of holding onto a radio that I would never use - not going to buy another Tacoma and I'm not going to take out the AVIC to re-install the OEM radio.

    Hello Hunter,

Can you post some pics of the new installed Pioneer?

Are the steerling wheel controls working as the previous OEM stereo (including phone buttons)?

Is the OEM USB and aux below working?

    Thanks in advance!

I posted some pictures of the unit in this thread; post #325.

All of the steering wheel buttons work except the "end call" button on the right side because I sacrificed it to become the "voice control" button.

I had a dedicated USB/iPod cable routed from the unit to the center console, and that works for sure. I'm not sure if the OEM USB and aux work though because I haven't tried to use them. Sorry I can't be of more help on that one. If I get a chance, I'll try them and see what happens.

That really sucks! I think I packaged it well enough to handle a drop like that though. I really hope it works for you. If not, let me know and I will take it back as promised. I would definitely like to see pictures of how you get it installed

Hahaha, you beat me to the post. Oh well, I'm really glad it still works. Good luck with your install!

Thanks for the prompt reply Hunter!

After reviewing all of the information you provided, I ordered the same Nav Unit and everything, I hope my install comes out as clean as yours!

Where did you mount the GPS antenna? or is it connected to the "shark fin", if so how?
    Thanks

I'm glad I could help! I had my unit installed by a professional; electrical stuff like this is not one of my strong skill sets  I just held a flashlight (and other tools), kept him company, made executive decisions, and tried to learn as much as possible. I believe the GPS antenna was mounted in the back of the dash (behind the unit) tucked to the driver's side behind the dash. I don't have a "shark fin" on my truck.

Good luck with everything! I'm sure your install will come out as clean as mine. One thing to take note of: the screen is designed to pivot/slide about the bottom edge's axis (so one can play CDs/DVDs). Because of this, a small gap around the top and bottom edge of the unit is required to allow for this movement. The gap is really small (I don't notice it) but at first we didn't positon the unit correctly (no gap at the bottom) and the screen couldn't slide down. Just trying to save you having to take the unit back out and adjust the mounting brackets like we did :)

Hey, I also posted some more information about the install in this thread. Hopefully this will be useful as well.

Got it from here. Waiting list might be a while since OP is on the road. He provides the NAV Antenna with the HU. Working flawlessly. For the Aux port, can't help you on that cause 08 didn't come with that feature. I did end up doing the Tundra USB-AUX port mod.
