So I ordered a full set of CV boots from NorthWest Off Road, $96 shipped for all 4.

    http://www.northwestoffroad.com/parts/serviceparts_drivetrain.php

These are Empi's that are available from anywhere else for about $12/piece.

    Empi # 86-2319-D for the outer's...longer ones, 6 ribs

    Empi # 86-2321-D for the inner's...shorter ones, 4 ribs

And these part # are available from the Empi website, so I don't know if they are true high angle boots? There is no cross reference to any Porsche's??

At this point I don't have a choice but, to install them and see how they work out, gotta get my CV's back together.

    Maybe this helps somebody else.

I had a long discussion with the shop that rebuilt my CV's...they have been in business for quite a while. Anyhow, the bulk of our discussion was about doing the boot slide on them, and yes, he got the idea, but, in his opinion stretching the boot like that would create an even bigger problem when turning where you are stretching the boot even more...and thus making area's between the ribs susceptible to splitting/tearing.

So, in the long run we opted against the boot slide mod.

I still haven't installed the CV's but, if you want pics I can post them, let me know.

empi is a manufacturer of porche and volkswagen parts, air cooled vehicles at that. its my understanding that the porche cv's will fit, and have less ribs and a better overall construction. id return them. or even order a set of empis, dunno about chicago but here in az "chirco" or "BAP" could help you out getting a set of empis.

What I got are Empi's from NorthWest Off Road... I had read plenty of threads referring to the Porsche 930 style boot, but, never any specific part#...as far as Porsche stuff goes, Pelican Parts is probably the cheapest out there, with plenty of 930 boots.

My original point is, that this place is selling the Empi's as high angle, which they very well could be...but, they are available for 1/2 the price that the off road shop charged me.

As for ribs, these have more than the OEM boots on my CV's. Like I said I had long discussion about boots with the guys who rebuilt my CV's and they have seen no issue's resulting from the rubbing of ribs and liked that these have more ribs, another reason I DIDN'T go with the boot slide mod.

the empis are simply a aftermarket porche boot. as for the part number, a part number SHOULD be a part number, like stated it was my understanding the porche boots are just better quality.

    OME and worth every penny.
I too, just got in my "High Angle Boots" from NorthWest.

Don't waste your money guys. These are the same boots you can buy @ O'Rielly's for 10 bux a pop. Nothing special about them.

They also sent me the wrong dia. sway bar bushings. $%^&
I need end links and will prob. run disconnected a while so I guess I'll return them and wait for the 27MM's.
These too are just EnergySusp. Reds and could have been bought locally for cheaper.....and I could have just returned them easier. Sometimes mail order sux when your not familiar with the persons product.

Yeah, I assumed they were the same as all pro.
To me the price is worth it if it would work. I keep blowing CV boots.

Was just looking up my own parts reference # for these boots.

Both of mine are now blown...

Hell, they lasted 4 years and a good 80K miles! Gonna order another set and have my CV's rebuilt again!
