Well of course things did not pan out as I hoped with the tax return so I have to withdraw from this. Excuse me while I fume.

Anyone in the Charlotte, NC area interested in getting together to split freight on these? I have access to a loading dock with fork lift.

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
I'd be interested in an East coast shipping combo.
I'm in Atlanta though, def going to buy the Shasta and awning plus some goodies.

    Anyone else east coast?

I'd say go bigger. This is an investment that will last a long time. If the cash is available go a bit bigger. I'm doing the rainier over the Shasta for that reason.

Few years a kid pops out and bam, still have the space.

My theory is, the extra $400 gets you an extra tent(annex)-say your city slickin friends want to see the back country, or you don't want your dog sleeping in the truck (90lb lab will sleep in annex), or in Oregon, a lot of my camping trips have at least 1-2 rain storms that roll thru so a dry place to change before climbing into bed. I don't have a canopy so dry place for gear. And I hunt all thru fall so it is always raining. And my gf will actually camp with me every weekend if she can be up off the ground. She has a complete irrational fear of critters. But at least if I want to camp by myself I just have to tell her I am heading into cougar country to scout and she wont come.

I decided to go bigger for two reasons.
If another person needed shelter I want to be able to offer it.
If for some reason a child came into my life I don't have to sell my tent and buy a new one.

Yea my dad has that one. It is big..but if im sheltering a child or rando..they can sleep in the annex..keeps the tent private ;) haha

and actually i think you can trade in..my dad i know had thought about it for the overhang..have to ask bobby though for clarification.
