I'm in Avon, so only one of us would need to run down. Perfect!

2 more and we could do a pallet into the Vail/Summit/Glenwood Springs area...

I am not 100% yet, but I am down in Buena Vista, so avon or vail is only about an hour for me.

What is the savings on doing the palletized shipping? If we get 4 would it split the shipping cost by 4? If so I am pretty sure I would do that and get the Mt. Bachelor.

Anyone in SLC, UT want to split shipping?

Also I have a question about mounting, is there a way to adapt it to wrap around 1.75" tubing?

I think you may have to buy longer bolts but yes, the tents can be mounted on round tubing and not just square. The bolts that come with the tent are like 2" so you might need to get some 2.5"

Not sure how much the shipping cost reduction is, but I know its significant. I head down your way to Mtn. Bike occasionally, so meeting up wouldn't be a problem.

Yes - you'll need longer bolts and possibly will have to fabricate the bottom brackets (Just a metal bar with holes in it).

I did this to mount my CVT to my rack and it's worked great for years.

So do I need to post here to get the info I need to get in on the Group Buy?

Edit: also can you guys recommend an exact rack system? I've looked at Thule and Yakima but I'm not sure I am looking at the right ones for my DCSB.

No but you must send me a bottle of wine to get the super secret group buy code :spy:

You have lots of options for racks. CVT carries some that are sort of a universal truck bed mount (like the Thule/Yakima) or you can get one fabbed up to fit your truck and your needs specifically (say if you wanted to have shovel/hi lift mounts, etc on the sides). There are a few folks on TW that make the racks, a few of us RTT owners have posted our set ups over here. It could give you some more ideas of what is available.
Things to consider: how high do you want to mount the tent, if you want the tent to open to the side its best that the supports run the width of the bed, what else are you going to have in/over the bed of the truck...?

and...??? Its TW, this sort of thing happens

I want the room of a mt ranier RTT. I also want to mount on a bed rack. That said, it would be on a DCSB tacoma and have to hang off the back of the rack a foot. Would this be fine? or do I need to fabricate a rack with a cantilevered support for that last foot?

It would seem like it would be fine since these are all mounted on 2 bar systems, so there will always be a significant part of the tent unsupported. Thoughts? Pictures?
