Not sure on the dimenson claim. I would confidently order from other companies for the main components. Maybe Bobby can chime in on that though. :notsure:.

Ill compare my old one eventually and then to CVT this summer. The mattresses swapped perfectly though. So the base is the same between the two I had.

Tepui Ayer = 48 wide x 84 long (open) no one else makes a tent that size. If you had one and needed a new rainfly, cover, mattress or poles you'd have the get them through Tepui.
The ARB tents aren't symmetrical so that means the poles are unique to them
And the diameter of the poles is different with some brands
I think the travel covers vary too but I'm not 100% on that. I seem to remember seeing some that zipped all 4 sides where my CVT is a 3 sides zipper and then the 4th side slides into a groove on the bottom of the tent.

I take care of my stuff too but bad things happen sometimes so I like knowing that I have that added insurance of finding replacements if necessary.

I had actually seen a Camping Lab tent locally on CL before I got my CVT but because they were out of business I decided to pass on it and go with CVT.

Pretty sure as long as you weren't an idiot and took some basic measurements you could find the parts needed. You also have to do something crazy to damage the tent. My old one was ran over and was fine. Fabric is easy to patch. You can buy zippers for cheap too.

Id get it even if the company was unknown

Yes. If you want to, Google "Camping Labs Tents" and select the images. Compare as needed.

If you needed to buy mounting rails, Tepui or CVT should work. You definitely want to check the dimension but the rails are extrusions and pretty much all use the same mounting hardware and even if it didn't line up exactly, you can drill ;)

You won't be able to change the orientation of the rails unless you seal the old holes.

I have the largest Camping Labs RTT and I *think* it is essentially identical to the old ARB tent so dimensions for mounting and such should be the same. It is a great tent. Let me know if anyone wants any dimensions off it...

My CVT Mt.Hood is effing bulletproof! The US Government actually considers it a mobile fall-out shelter. It's buff as shit.

If the RTT is in good condition you can always find materials that will work for mounting rails. A good auto upholstery place can repair or replace zippers and patch holes, or even make a new rainfly. That RTT could be a good buy for someone who wants one but afford a new one.

I didn't use my mounting rails, because I had designed a custom rake that would support the would base. I plugged the holes and made new ones where I needed them.

Here's a bird's-eye view of myself and another member on a camp trip this past weekend. The good flat camp spots were taken so we parked in this dried up wash. Mine is the green Kukenam with the ARB awning, and his is the CVT. Slept like a baby that night...
