My Towing Mirrors

Have mine on order! Christmas gift!! This may be a stupid question, but are the blind spot mirrors on these adjustable as well? These have been a lifesaver for me in the past! Thanks!

 

The blind spot mirrors don't move independently. Move the big mirror, the small one moves with it.

And now that you've had them for a while - how do you like them? How elaborate was the install - it looks like you can just pop off the little triangular panel, with no need to remove the door trim - is that correct? Are they reasonably vibration-free? Field of vision about the same as the stock mirrors? Smaller or larger blind spot? Do they work pretty seamlessly with the adjustment switch? How's the fit of the external piece, and does it seal effectively? Any gotchas on install or use?

I'm looking at a pair of these for my truck (heated sounds nice, but I'm not sure I'm up for buying the switch and doing all the wiring, or paying someone else to do it for that matter). $240 seems like a pretty decent deal if they're good quality - but would be an expensive lesson learned if these had bad quality glass, a huge blind spot, or started leaking water or didn't work well with the stock controls.

Wish I could just buy the driver's side mirror! Some awesome person in a parking lot completely folded my mirror forward(wrong direction)! Now it's all jacked up. Closing my door now, causes it to fold in and I have to manually move it back out each time I get into my truck... I guess the only bright side is that the glass didn't break and the electronics still work fine. Just a shame that there are people like that in the world!

 

Took the plunge and ordered them. $240 for a pair of electric (but unheated) mirrors seemed like a pretty decent deal.

Install took about 20 minutes - and that includes the five minutes I spent finding a video on youtube on how to pop off the inside trim on the door (which is required to get the bottom two of the three nuts).

Mirrors fit well, outside trim piece looks stock. They're big; most people won't notice the difference, but they're definitely full-size truck caliber, rather than what you'd expect on a Tacoma.

Electric adjustment works great, and they're as vibration free as the OEM mirrors at freeway speeds. Great field of vision, including the blind spot mirrors. And when you pop them out into two mode (I almost don't need to with me rather small pop-up travel trailer, as they're already as far out as stock mirrors plus the chintzy add-ons I was using before), they really shine.

Glad I got them.

That has happened to mine too, I just moved it back and forth and it popped back into place. Try this and i hope that it works for you.

So I've had the mirrors from 1aauto for a while now and I love them but I did have to return one after folding it in when I was parked in a cramped parking lot. After I folded it in there was a pop and after that it would not stay in the normal position. It really sucked because I had my trailer and as I was cruising down the freeway for 3.5hrs my mirror was just smashed up against my driver side window.

 

You must have had a set from the 1st release of these. There was a batch that this did happen to and the manufacture has made changes to fix that problem.

Mine were easy to install, although the 2014 Off-road is NOT plug and play for the turn signal. They vibrate a bit in the down position, and hate to say COMPLETELY unusable in the flipped up position. Vibrate like a rabbit set on high. Can't use them. Down, however, they are usable, bit still vibrate a bit.

 

Well that's upsetting. I was really tempted to pull the trigger on a set with turn signals. (actually was looking to get OEM mirrors with turn signals before I saw these) Sad to hear they're not plug and play... and that they vibrate.

 

I had the same experience with the vibration but my truck had turn signals in the mirrors already and was plug and play.
They are sending me another set, I hope the vibrations are a fluke...

 

I ordered a set of the taco folding tow mirrors like 2 monygs ago and I love them. I dont use them for towing anything bc I have nothing that big to tow to havw to have them. I ridewith them up all the time. I havent had any trouble with the vibrations. I got them mainly for looks and I tell you what, I get alot of attention bc of them. Ppl love them and compliment them daily lol.
